There's rumblings (well, maybe more copings) of a Sonic Unleashed remaster being shown at the Game Awards tonight. I'm leaning more towards the new 3D title being revealed.
SEGA showed off teasers for new Golden Axe and JSR (a very dodgy looking one at that) projects a year or two back, with JSR expected to be part of their 'supergame' concept (AKA "we need our own fortnite"). My money's on them showing off those games as well as Sonic Rumble announcements - it was a SEGA announcement rather than a Sonic-specific one after all.

What about my Shadow the Edgeheg remaster? It should be done about now to take advantage of the popularity of the 3rd movie.

My chocoo queen!

The fact it has humans at all instead of awkwardly leaving them offscreen and pretending the world was always just filled with cities of animal people automatically puts it above IDW.
It's not even that, as supposedly the Mobians (whoops, nevermind, the "Sonic's race", as they no longer have a name for themselves), exist mostly in the islands that clutter the world in Sonic, while humies exist in the regular continents. I believe there's a pic of a surprisingly empty Spagonia with no people around, and there was a literal zombie apocalypse and everything. Unless the secret is that the furries are extremely racist and territorial and kick out any human out of their territory, or that Eggman wiped out humanity at the end of Sonic Forces, this is making things more and more embarrassing once humans finally show up in the next Sonic 3d game.

are words like mobius, mobians, satam, archie the equivalent of word Nigger to sega
It seems so, as I believe they haven't had a name for the critters since Adventure 1. Or hell, the first games. Sonic's world was always meant to be Earth with animal people and made-up places, but the Japanese branch cared so little about the story and/or talked so little with the American one, that the latter had to make up stuff that had to be retconned by the Japs. The funny part is that eventually Team Sonic kind of agreed, as while they didn't like the idea of the world being a postapoc hellhole with Mobians being the result of nuclear war or something like that... The Sonic OVA of the 90s IS post-apoc Earth, and the games' world is littered with ruins of previous civilizations.
Archie gave some world building (mostly stolen from the Sonic SATAM cartoon), and was quickly shoved aside and forgotten. IDW had to spin their wheels because they have nothing to work with. I suppose we'll have a BIG SURPRISE (TM) for when the next game launches next year due to being Sonic's 35th anniversary, but IMO it's clear the story has always been an afterthought. Or maybe they don't want to invest so much in Sonic due to being aware of the terrible reputation this franchise has.
In any case, I wish they did a remaster or a sequel of some sort to Tails' Adventure, so that the innocent-looking fox has the chance to throw napalm bombs at people again.

Maybe that's what Iizuka meant by "two worlds" rather than there being two worlds literally.

I would not be so heavily down about this. I mean, this is the same company when asked about Comics, Movies, games, spin offs, etc... said this:

But if Tangle, Whisper, Surge and other comic characters start appearing in Sonic games I take it almost as the same as when Sally showed up in Sonic Spinball, "Until they have plot/game relevance its just marketing".

I also wouldn't be too scared because of the now-proven-to-be-completely-justified SEGA MANDATES for the comics/media portrayals of Sonic's characters. Everyone now knows that without those mandates, they would have Sonic be crying like a bitch constantly like Archie Sonic did, Tails be gay, Sonic openly saying trans rights, etc...
All those people that have said that the mandates are bad due to not allowing Sonic to be Out of Character constantly have been routinely btfo on the release of every issue of IDW.
When it comes to gay shit in Sonic I'd wouldn't be too worried as well since Sega also seems to crack down on that if we take the constant complaints from IDW writers and Ian Flynn about how they are not allowed to make LBTQIAP+ characters.

I have more nauanced thoughts on this and may do a write-up later.
