Does anyone remember Swords and Potions 1/2? When I was poor I played the second one obsessively on Kongregate. Sadly the game has been defunct forever now. I've never found anything quite like it. Closest was probably Holy Potatoes A Weapon Shop, but it lacks many of the key elements that really tickled my serotonin from my shitty flash game childhood.

I love shop management games but I hate 3D slop the dilemma is real lol.

Is project diva girly? It stars Hatsune Miku and its a rhythm series.

Pretty much every woman I know who enjoys gaming like me loves puzzle games and Blue Prince is one of the best I've ever played. I wasn't sure if I'd like it because of the roguelite elements but it works amazingly well and the game totally sucked me in to the point where I have to monitor my time.

The art is very pleasing and the music, while unobtrusive, is great. This game has a lot of very tricky puzzles, too, so you will want to take a lot of notes.

JRPGs all the way. So, so many. I’m blaming FFVII. MMOs too, do they count? Particularly Ragnarok Online (I’m an old hag, yes) and WoW.

I played some Harvest Moon back in my emulation days but got bored before I could be bothered to get a wife, I don’t have the patience for most “cozy” games which sucks for me. Played Animal Crossing with my husband though and that was a fair bit of fun! After building shit, growing so many flowers and collecting items gets tedious and boring pretty fast though. I need some action and PVP. I need something immediately competitive to my games to hold my attention. The fate of an old tomboy, I guess. It’s not a great one. Project Diva is awesome though if that counts!

Are farming games inherently girly? I know tons of dudes who play Harvest Moon, Stardew Valley, etc. It doesn’t seem that girly to me just because there’s no blood in it (all though I kind of wish Story of Seasons kept the possibility for your livestock to get sick or die in the original, it really made you care about them more instead of basically just being walking crops).

I wish Infinity Nikki hadn’t gone to shit. Has it improved at all? I haven’t been on in a while. I finished the main story in about a week or two so I hope there’s some more main content

You might like Rune Factory. It's literally Harvest Moon (as in it's a HM spinoff series) but with combat and dungeons. If it sounds like something you'd be into, I'd start with the fourth one since it's the best, and the games aren't chronological so you won't be missing anything story-wise.

Rimworld. You'll have to mod it up to be a little prettier but it's a great sandbox with a ton of control over the difficulty and scenario; you can swap freely between comfy farming/colony building/story telling and sweaty violent everything's-on-fire gameplay.

more general female appeal but unisex. using stardew as the model for modern ones, you have a farming system, dating sim, action-rpg, fishing, city builder. with general appeal, farming is m/f, dating is m/f if male options are included, action-rpg is moreso to males, i'd think fishing (hunting) would be bit more to males, city builder m/f.

generally gender based design gets monkey wrenches anyway, like the Alchemist jrpg games which are more structured towards women will still get male appeal from the gameplay and/or attractive female design. i remember seeing a guy play a barbie game demo for ps1 a long time ago, and he was really into it; i didn't know the terms at the time but it was like a tomb raider barbie game that played like crash bandicoot but with the style of a less violent tomb raider. anyway, at one point he had realization from someone telling him it was a barbie game, and he instantly dropped it and walked off angry and humiliated, but it was a perfectly enjoyable platformer game.

many of the female appealing vet/horse games also would appeal to more people if they were less shitty in general, like if you have a vet "game" that's just 99% cute pet models, you won't get much besides younger women, but a well done game where you'd help stuff like a crying dog that'd lick you in the face or something would have universal appeal. similar to children's media turning into baby shark and skibidi toilet.

They’re about to release a new main region this week! Though not much improvement, the recon is still there, and we didn’t get any actual main story content after release, just some side stories. Majority of the quests are just limited time events.

The community itself is completely losing it at the moment so for your own peace of mind I wouldn’t dredge through the comments if you decide to look up the new outfits. I actually came to this thread to vent but realised it’s probably not the right place.

For the detective/puzzle girls I recommend the Golden Idol series and The Rootrees Are Dead, with the latter requiring you to utilise kiwis' particular set of skills.;)

You might like Rune Factory.
You’re right, I do and I should get back to it. Thanks for the reminder. I had haven’t played that in ages and forgot about it.
I’d heard of this but never looked into it until you mentioned it. Even without modding it, it sounds awesome. I might have to give it a go once I finish off my current games. Thank you!

You're welcome but why did you give me TMI sticker for that. I'm not mad or anything I'm just confused lmao
Dammit, sorry. I can’t even see any sticker on my end lol
I’m sorry if I did, I probably did it while half asleep and browsing KF. It wouldn’t be the first time I’ve dished out some retard sticker while not concentrating, I’ll try give some other one and hope it changes. How odd! Apologies, my dude. I’d be confused too

I saw Blue Prince on Steam awhile back and was curious, but unsure. I guess I'll pick it up.

I like puzzle games (hello Professor Layton!) but I wouldn't say I'm any good at them. Anyone have advice/suggestions for a lowkey idiot?

professor layton type ones aren't my cup of tea, but if you're ok with expanding "puzzles" a bit, edna and harvey and the deponia games are pretty challenging, pretty high quality, and on a deep sale on steam til the 9th (their endings are almost universally depressing bs though)

the penumbra series is horror centric like amnesia, and a fps, but also has some of the most difficult puzzles i've seen as a normie in the medium, and also like amnesia and most of it's spin offs is 90% a puzzle game but with creepy mannequins every so often, slayaway camp is also horror centric but much more puzzle but gets repetitive

it is a gooner game, but huniepop 1's matching system was actually one of the first puzzle games i played that started feeling very zen at high difficulties

games more like p layton requires a lot of accepting/replaying really old games like nancy drew and/or digging through a LOT of shovelware and slop to get ones worth something imo, because it's like a niche of a niche, if you compromise for point and click though there's ludicrous amounts of solid at worst ones

edit: *facepalm* forgot key point of your post, if you have problems with them (literally everybody has problems with point and click games, don't believe the lies) i'd recommend ignoring shame and keeping a walkthrough available, playing through naturally, and any time you get stuck just seeing what you did wrong to avoid frustration or giving up, while still keeping a challenge

If you want a fun puzzle game, I can recommend puzzle agent. I'm not sure if it's "girly" enough, but it is definitely a fun puzzle game.

I know it's been mentioned before, but Hello Kitty Island Adventure has been my game of the year ever since it launched for PC. I quite enjoy designing homes for the visitors!

For those who enjoy survival games with crafting elements, I love playing Don't Starve Together and Valheim, I enjoy creating a base the most in those games.

Although I haven't finished these turn-based games, I really liked Coromon and Heartbeat (no relation to Heartbound).

If you're looking for a new, high-budget cozy game, Hoyoverse is making their own called Petit Planet.
