Both of these points illustrate how Nate is the actual friend that Nick pretended to be. From what I've seen Nate's legitimately made efforts to hang with Kurt and get him in a better headspace over the last couple of years. In the past I've shit on Kurt a lot for his incel-rage spergery and apparent personality disorders, but over the last year it looks like he's legitimately been working to improve himself (again Nate's genuine friendship appears to have helped quite a bit). Nick has a bunch of things in common with Chris Watts:
- Nerdy guys who pursued their spouse more than she was interested in them
