Consoomers / Consoomer Culture - Because if it has a recogniseable brand on it, I’d buy it!

I have never in my life seen someone with a labubu. I swear the whole thing was astroturfed.
I've seen them in every store now, I think I saw some chocolates with pictures of them the other day

And I have yet to personally meet a single person that owns one
I swear some of the people that own this sorta stuff just get drag n dropped into reality like background sims and then removed from the world when the trend is over, they're out there buying the stuff but they don't actually exist as people

Ringo is a truly underappreciated artist, he had a lot of talent as a percussionist and his fills were great. What held him back was being in the Beatles.
You say it held him back, but after his first two solo albums (the albums before Ringo and Goodnight Vienna do not count to me) he really started to fall off. Rotogravure is mostly fine, but Ringo the 4th is an unmitigated disaster.

I thought someone in this thread would've talked about Funko's current financial situation by now. Apparently sales are down by 14% and the debt just keeps piling up.

This retard also popped up while I looked up Funko Pops on YouTube:

He looks exactly like someone who'd collect this shit.
I always thought that it was unusual for people to collect Funko Pops in general.

If you have one or two related to something you enjoy, fine. They're goofy looking, but they're an easy gift for someone you don't necessarily know much about beyond their interest in a specific fandom. I picture somebody's aunt thinking: "Oh, my nephew likes the Star Tracks. I should get him a Yoda Funko." I feel like most geeks (and even a lot of non-geeks) have accumulated a Pop or two related to their specific fandom that way.

But the lunatics who have walls of them still in boxes to the point that their rooms look like a well-stocked Hot Topic? Do they really like ALL of those characters? That's impossible. It's just hoarding at that point.

I know at least for a while they were encouraging hoarding of them by releasing absolutely stupid amounts of variants. Like if someone wanted to collect Batman ones, they could get Batman. But then there were also 5 different colored chrome Batmen. A gold Batman. A Batman only sold at Gamestop with a different color belt and a special Gamestop sticker on the box. And similar variants only sold at other retailers.

Just tons of them. And the same thing with other characters. If you like that character, then you need to track down all the different variants. Like Malibu Stacy and her new hat. Seemed to work on plenty of nerds.

As I mentioned earlier: @candy.courn aka Courtney Ahn is a strange case of consoooooming wrapped in a shiny bow of being hecking queer, Asian, and neurodivergent!!! Classic attention seeking woman who pretends not to be a woman. She just has hoards of random shit all over her house, and weird corporate style paintings. She even had the gall to say oh I'm not overconsuming!! I just have better taste so I am not overconsuming!! And a majority of her videos are about her house or all of the things she has in it.

Not to mention Courtney is the mask police and is going as far as to call people fascists who partake in eugenics if they don't mask up

yeah guys you can heckin' fight fascism by wearing a mask!!

Don't forget you're also taking part in eugenics if you don't mask up half a decade after covid!!

She also says that overconsumption is essentially her autistic hobby as well : link

It doesn't matter if it's pink, heckin aesthetic, or from Japan. She has so much crap it is all over the floor as well.

Courtney is an illustrator/graphic designer that draws the most eye-melting corporate style art. She does not fail to incorporate this all over her house.

As a Asian, I don't get why Asian-Americans have this snobby attitude of being oppressed. The consooming that goes on with Asians is WILD and Asian society is so materialistic. Very much cow behavior going on with this one.

Asians are Schroedinger's Minority. They're in the same boat as Jews where they're too successful to be "oppressed" in the same way that niggers and other assorted darkies are but are still a legitimate minority group and so the more lefty minded members among them desperately want to be able to play the victim for social clout. Unlike the Jews however, Asians do not have a hoax genocide to lean on for freebies and protection.

I can forgive the plushie collection
I can forgive the munchings
I can even forgive acting like the mask police
But not that art, no human being with a soul draws in this corporate of an artstyle of their own free will

I guess this is true for Asians in the west. Asians in Asia simply don't act like this. Thank you for the explanation

No mentally sound person would willingly draw such an eyesore . That alone makes her a cow in my eyes

Because it is shaped like a bear and people get to live out their primitive fantasy of sucking the warm, delicious life blood out of a living creature.
Have you ever poured hot tea into a nearly empty honey jar? Because that shit is candy. I however don’t understand paying Starbucks for the knock off version of a poor kid’s snow day treat.

Asians in Asia don't have the same cultural mores or philosophical basis for their societies as western nations do. Asians in Asia also tend to not be minorities nor do they tend to have the same approach to minorities as westerners do.
