30 years after 1.2 Billion FUCKIN' UGLY REDS, who's ready for the official sequel? Now featuring:

-"Amurikkkans"
-Uncle Sam dakakimakuras
-Morbidly obese Disney adults
-Troons
-That one woman who shot up Youtube HQ
-still only 7 second music clips

Will it be good? Fuck no, it looks like trash, but it's funny that it's happened. Coming December 2025.

This is going to sound super retarded but personally I think this game has too much content for a sequel to the original game.

If anything, the best satire of modern gaming I can think of would probably be the same game as the original, but put through an upscale filter, with about 13 hours of setting up 3 different accounts, all with unique passwords and separate apps required for authentication, install screens, mandatory wait rooms, and of course an option to turn off the music that is more expensive than the actual game is.

Additionally, there should be a one in a trillionth chance that the music starts too early by a quarter note, disrupting the rhythm that minutes of play has created. Players know this is possible because of an attract screen that plays if the game is not started. There should be an achievement unlocked when this happens 5 times, requiring dedicated completionists to play for hours and possibly days on end, listening to the same 3 seconds of music millions of times.

is it actually made by the guy or unrelated people claiming to be the guy?

The original was a masterpiece, might not be able to be topped but there is a chance if it's done by the guy and he's still got that same sense of humor.

What did I just watch? It looked AI-generated or something
How in the fuck does this in any shape or form look ai generated? Are you just throwing shit out there? It's all compressed jpeg meme images and pixel art. The original game was an infamous very early shitpost game that a lot of people didn't even realize was meant to be a joke somehow till decades after the fact and basically was structured the same visually albeit a lot more simplistic.

Any coder can recreate that in like two evenings in Gamemaker, what an embarrassing grift

Also the Hong Kong lease is 50 years, should've been named "Hong Kong 2047", this retard didn't even care to google a basic historical fact

Steam listing shows the devs as HappySoft (no idea if it's really the original company) and Kanipro, a Japanese indie studio.

The steam description outright admits that it does use some AI generated images that are then manually edited and pixellated.

Did you really expect that kind of effort?

Another top down arcade game?
Come on, anyone could tell you that a true sequel to HK97 should be a gory first person shooter.

Yeah, Hong Kong 97 was notable for being a homebrew for SNES, which was something of a feat, not to mention the insulting imagery. But nowadays anyone can make a PC game like that. The sequel should either be also on SNES or be more ambitious, something like Grezzo 2, for example.

Just play Crack-Life: Anniversary Campaign.

The guy who made the original, Kowloon Kurosawa, is involved. but to what extent I don't know.

That's pretty standard for shitposts and internet funnies after the image generations tuff took off. Some small time game people also use it for shit like lens flare jpegs to splice in.
