Especially after watching those last videos, I'm pretty certain it's that they're a couple of overgrown manchildren who honestly don't care about having stuff nicer than you'd find in a college dorm.
Even John, the more status-hungry of the pair, only really cares about easily-tweetable items that say "I AM RICH", like designer bags and sports cars (yeah I know lol)

I dunno what it is, but the design is too "clean" to be made orange (and it seems more orange to me) by Wu's regular filth.

That couch is disgusting. For two people bringing in over $200k a year you'd think they'd have nicer stuff and be cleaner. Money doesn't buy class or common sense.

I honestly think Wu is trying to act like they're a generation younger than they really are, what with all the frivolous spending on new tech from Apple and the video game focus. Most people Wu's age settled down, gotten a stable job, and maybe popped out a kid or two. Wu's nearing 40 and behaves like they're half that age.

Wu has constantly lied about her age online. She's only embracing the truth that she's almost 40 now because it helps people take her seriously as the next star of House of Cards or whatever she envisions political life being.

Can you imagine if she and Frank had tried to adopt? Based on Wu's posts back in the day I know she hates kids and mothers but just imagine some poor foster kid ending up in their home.
 
Has Wu ever tweeted about walking those poor dogs? I get it's just part of the daily routine for most dog owners and not necessarily tweet-worthy. It would allow for some classic Wu bragging-lies about 'bumping into a fan' or 'converting a passing Trump supporter to seeing the light' etc.

I also wondered if the sofa destruction is because the dogs only ever see the house or yard, so are bored out of their minds.

I'm willing to bet Frank is too busy to walk them (and might even resent the idea; these are clearly John's dogs and the successors to the Jame Gumb style Precious he supposedly had in college) and John is his usual lazy old turd self about it, and so they have a small backyard lathered in dogshit which their neighbors no doubt despise.
 
I mean between "racing motorcycles" and "fighting off Air Force guys who want to get on her bike" she does run two full marathons every week as we can clearly see from her athletic and not at all Big Bird body type. She must take the dogs on those runs too. Under all of that filthy matted fur, I'm sure you will find the bodies of gods.

Jesus Christ I just read Frank's entry. "Frank is also a big fan of giant marine isopods and pycnogonids." Yeah. We know. He writes octopus sex scenes.
