This right here is why the right needs to completely abandon the "if we do x it will be used against us!" mentality. These people (and those who fund them) will do anything in their power to "punish" us as soon as they get the opportunity.

The reason is obvious, but no one on the Court wants to say it. Gays have become basically accepted across the entire First World. They don't creep people out the same way trannies do, and legalizing gay marriage wasn't the same miscarriage of justice that legalizing abortion was. They likely just don't want to pass around a political hot potato when there's no point to it.

I would also like to add that the VA GOP ran a a once in a generation horrible candidate for Governor. Now Ohio is setting itself up to do the same but there is still a outside chance that Vivek gets punted.

I have studied this stuff and the reality is crazier than any conspiracy theory: the US government wasn't fucking kidding about communism. When we intervened in Southeast Asia, for example, it literally was to stop the spread of communism. Economic considerations were secondary. Our primary goal was to go there and kill communists because they were communists. It's easy to look back on this now and laugh at it (especially when left-wing pedagogy drills cynicism of the Cold War into kids), but the US government was deadly afraid of communism as an ideological bloc.

My take is: Bernie, why is it that we don't have universal healthcare for every man, woman, and child? Is it because we subsidize the militarizes of our allies to a great deal which includes NATO? Is it also because we pay for bullshit programs that NGOs pocket in their "Administrative Costs" through USAID and other pork-barrel spending? Is Healthcare even more expensive now because it made everyone opt-in and caused premiums to spike almost across the board, for everyone?

To Bernie's credit, he didn't vote for the ACA; so he doesn't have to defend the program. The fact that he is now further shows how slimy and full of shit he is.

Libertarians get enraged when currency debasement isn't a 100% efficient ripoff of people who are too broke, trad, or risk-averse to participate in "finance." Indiscriminately distributed checks give us a chance to explain the Cantillon Effect to them. A few will understand and become human.

I don't think conservatives can be cured of the delusion that wages (and things like wages) cause inflation. That propaganda hits them just right. But still, it's fun to watch them shit themselves (and eat the shit) on behalf of the poor "job creators."

So burning cities did not work.
Attacking police with molotov cocktails did not work.
Looting and carjacking did not work.
