It doesn't help that those new grads can barely read the make-believe degrees they've all been given.
The double whammy of lockdowns and AI has devalued college degrees earned in the past 5 years (and that's a good thing!)

We may actually see the collapse of the college industrial complex within our lifetimes. Won't happen instantly of course - but if it becomes widely accepted that getting a degree no longer guarantees even a coin flip of landing a good job, colleges will go back to being playgrounds for children of the rich (math/physics, philosophy, humanities, fine arts) and proving grounds for the fields that do still need to be gatekept by degrees (medicine, engineering, law).

Ohh boy, Chief Roberto is calling tariffs "an imposition of taxes" this nigger is fully retarded

the idea of putting FOREIGN POLICY FIDUCIARY DECISIONS in the hands of congress is absurd and will break a huge part of our country of they decide this.

I don't know why people can't be honest about this stuff. It is a tax on the buyer, if they buy the chink shit, it's suppose to make the chink shit more expensive than the american made stuff. If you buy the more expensive chink shit, it's more an idiot tax, but it's still sort of a tax.

Am i missing something on this? I very well could be, i dont' really get how all this shit works.

I think we need to just start all calling these people all Mohamed, strictly as a time saving measure for the safety of the economy. If we all spend all day trying to figure out how to pronounce these brownoid names nothing will get done.

we'll have to lower tariffs and import more shit in order for us to station federal inspectors in the offshored countries.

it's easier to reopen usaid and give money to domestic non profits to agitate for the cause of anti slave labor. pay cnn or the new york times for an expose on company XYX's use of child labor and pollution.

that tax is payed by the IMPORTER then passed on by market factors to the consumer

there is nothing FORCING the seller to "increase the price" the tax is payed by the seller when they import the good, its a very top down thing where then the importer passes the increase of cost to the consumer but thats only to matain the sellers profits

There's the problem. All of these organizations that aren't technically owned by anyone have really weird goals that aren't really controlled by anyone... they just kind of happen through group dynamics and the absolute horrorshow of corporate law. Like some kind of perverse superorganism that is incapable of caring about people, either the workers or the customers, or even the shareholders when you get down to it.
If we want these things to stop the risk and punishment has to be so severe no golden parachute for a CEO/CFO/Board member/Manager or fine can be brushed off as an "expense". Honestly it should also carry over to investors with freezing assets during investigation and probes into people pumping/dumping stock. That'll never happen though with the boomers tied to the stock market at the hip coupled with the wealthy and politicians in on it too.

the obamacare mandate was allowed because it wasn't a penalty designed to punish people but a tax to generate revenue. i didn't listen to the oral hearing yet but why is the trump admin moving away from calling the tariffs a tax? is it to skirt around the wording of the act used to justify it?

it's called profit. very few people are in the business to break even. The importer pays the tariff, cogs goes up, so the price goes up. cogs goes up until it is sold.

Also Biden and Carter. Biden was used and ousted. Then, once they were done with him, word came out how bad his mind was.

As for Carter?

Pelosi seems more like a Hillary type that wants to be the one pulling the strings.
I need to make sure my living will includes a provision to just leave me alone in my house if I ever get to the point I can't take care of myself.

I don't want to linger in a shitty nursing home, I want to go home and then to my eternal home as soon as God lets me.

It was whichever thing it needed to be at the moment. IIRC, it was a tax to get through budget reconciliation rules, but then it became a penalty to get through some other technicality when argued before SCOTUS.

If SC strikes down Trump's tariff, his entire existence is over.
The Supreme Court has no jurisdiction and even if they magically did their ruling would go into effect in mid 2026. Which is probably long after most trade deals would be made. But I can't understand being frustrated by everyone asking the Supreme Court to step in when every week the tariffs change and there is no obvious reason for it. The only people benefiting from any of this are investors who buy the dip.

per obamacare everything is a quantum tax event that may collapse into a tax or not tax upon observation

For those interested, I have an update about the Louisville plane crash from a trusted source. Clock me if this is already known.

Engine 1 fell off during takeoff and landed on the runway. The tail engine had a compressor stall, which caused a loss of lift. They were going too fast to avert takeoff and the plane was too damaged to complete takeoff. The pilots were aware they were in deep shit and going to crash, so they likely tried their best to minimize damage.

Congress doesn't do shit. Senate is locked between not giving a shit and hoping shit works out.

Trump needs to do the thing and take power. This is so dumb.

I honestly think the fact they got every single American to stomach the idea of paying taxes on a home you OWN every year of your life until death then all your relatives pay tax on what you want to leave them means they can call anything a tax at whim and people will grumble about it but pay.

If there's one thing I've learned from workplace contact with 30+ countries, it's that Americans and Canadians are pretty much the only people obsessed with pronouncing someone's name "right." People from France or Israel or Poland or Brazil or China or India or Japan or England or Bangladesh or literally fucking anywhere else don't give a damn, they will look at how your name is spelled and make their best guess, and will assume you'll be good faith enough about it to deal with it while tittering about it when they're not in the room. And they'll expect you to get their name wrong, and they'll titter about it when you're not in the room. Which is fine, and as it should be. I don't know why Americans, especially American women, are massively prissy about their names being pronounced perfectly by foreigners who aren't pronouncing any words properly. I've seen American women stop a meeting cold, a meeting where millions of dollars in contracts were on the line, and insist on their name being accented correctly. What the fuck?
