Conflicting messaging on Venezuela

As a next door neighbor to venezuela, i can't fucking wait.

Venezuela is so fucked the goverment doesn't rely on cops or soldiers to opress people, they give guns and cash to motorcycle gangs instead.

Also if the kick results in a touchback the ball is placed at the 35 which incentivizes the kicking team to make sure the kick doesn’t result in a touchback.

Fascinating reads - the entire time, I was trying to figure out just what the fuck the author was on about, and then it sorta clicked, indirectly, for both these articles.

The journo's among the left are realizing they genuinely lost, but they refuse to believe they lost because their ideals and methods were bad. They insist they're still correct, and are trying to rationalize how Trump beat them within the context of their own distorted understanding of reality.

It clicked with the second article, about Trumps pardons and prosecutions in particular - They see someone doing exactly what they did, pushing through legal action on enemies while insulating allies from the consequences of their actions, and have to attack it. The only way they can do that without dealing friendly fire is by asserting he's doing their 'right thing' but for the wrong reasons, and that's why its bad - No bad tactics, only bad targets, asserting that Trumps only acting on bad targets. Same reason they had to justify how Trump is totally performing a communist cultural revolution in the first article, they've convinced themselves the only revolution that can be must operate under their rules, so they're interpreting everything going on from their worldview, then attacking him for that foundationally flawed position.

From this perspective, its pretty funny to see lefty think tanks try and wrangle Trumps successes into mistargeted lefty goals.

The debates don't matter because it will be Vance and the moderators, whoever he is against just needs to not look absolutely insane. Gavin knows how to rally and have interviews, Kamala truly didn't and that held her back greatly. Also, she burnt a lot of money and political capital making her self and the party look like fools, they have no reason to run her again.

In terms of name recognition, the DNC still has the media on their side, they can make ANYONE a household name pretty quickly. Obama went from being a nobody to international sensation pretty quickly same with the Indian NYC mayor guy. I am sure some DNC big wigs are quietly looking through their ranks for some other up and coming hot shot they can push into political stardom. I am calling it now, the next candidate will be a guy we haven't heard of until the DNC primaries happen.
