The most acceptable way to draw black people in their opinion is to draw them so pitch-dark that you can barely make out their body and facial features. Honest question here, has anyone noticed that the people that are pushing for certain gay ships to be canon are mostly young women and girls? The argument is always because of lack of rep and yet I've never seen gay men complaining about how they don't have enough of it. If we believe these young girls are mostly lesbians, why aren't they pushing for more lesbian ships? I mean they do but most of the time its always m/m ships. So are these girls pushing these ships because they are progressive women who want to promote rep, or are they really doing it so they can goon to more canon m/m ships and don't come across as fetishizing young boys and men? Pretty much a "How can I not look like I'm fetishizing two young boys if the creators made them canon?"
For these people simply relating/seeing themselves in the character is not enough. They have to turn the character into themselves. Their sexuality, ethnicity, race, pronouns, political view, the character has to be "ME".
