To my understanding, this is a legend with multiple variations circulating throughout Eastern cultures (a courtesan in Japan cutting off her kimono's sleeve, a gay Chinese emperor doing the same for his lover) that does not actually appear in any religious canons and is not considered true. That said, islamic teachings DO hold cats in one hell of high regard compared to most other creatures on this earth.

Antifa won’t become “illegal”. There’s no mechanism for it to happen. Again, people are just going to be sorely disappointed if they want to see Hasan punished. There’s little outright *illegal* he’s done. Incitement of violence? Potentially, but even then that’s a stretch. He’s usually been “someone should kill this person”. Nothing specific. As per Brandenburg v Ohio, you need to be both a) advocating for direct, intentional violence with specific actions and b) likely to produce said violence. The standard is pretty high. Saying “Someone should kill xyz politician” is totally legal. “People attending abc event on def day should take X action to kill Y person” is probably a bit closer to the standard.

I hate to seem like I’m defending the guy, but people seem to vastly overestimate what the government can and cannot do here. Is Hasan an irredeemable prick who thinks he shits gold bars? Absolutely. Will he be tossed into a jail cell for his streaming antics? Probably not. People should be thankful that Glowies can’t rock your shit for being a prick on the internet.
