You could see this too in other places, I remember back when egg prices were a thing and people still remembered USDA head Brooke Rollins' name, I commented on how you could clearly see how working with slaughterhouse owners showed the tension between the deportation policy of the admin and her economic prerogatives. Donald Trump himself gets mealymouthed when it comes to talking about deporting hotel workers. These people all know how this labor has been used and abused in their industries to hold up the status quo.
