I got mine and it doesn’t seem to be the case for me:

1. The ballot is prefolded into a trifold which hides the vote within the fold.
2. The envolope is bigger than the folded paper, so there is no way to force the result to be visible even if you’re retarded and purposefully fold the papern to have youe vote show on the outside.

This is either bait or there are different ballot formats going out. Regardless, I will be voting in person.

I feel Huxley got it right over Orwell personally.
Its neither here nor there. Obviously they're both great.
Huxley wrote Bernard from a stunted upper class perspective
Orwell wrote from the perspective of a middle class person.

I think the true dark horse of this conversation is rarely mentioned.
I feel Frank Herbert got it right from the top-down in Dune/Dune Messiah/God Emperor of Dune.

The issue that I see now is that the Union has woken up and has taken control of the Federal Government. And in a dramatic irony, the Southern States are now the most fervant supporters of the Union.

Clown world has a final joke too play. And that Joke is the Texas Militia carrying the Union Flag too Illinois too put down conspiracy against the Union by the Democratic Party. This is so many levels of irony it is breaking the meter.

The issue right now is nobody actually realizes that "The Union" is awake. The only reason I am banging on about it is because I am a civil war autist. There has been so much print made about a "neo confederacy" or "the south rising again". There has not been much thought on what it would mean for The Union of the civil war too come back.

But it HAS. The talking points coming from the Trump Administration and federal agents on the ground in Illinois, California and Oregon are blasts from the past...of the Union Army. There is an ideological framework now active that the democratic party does not understand, it REFUSES too understand. Texas sending troops too Illinois is done for the same reason Illinois sent troops too Texas 150 years ago. The patrimony of the American People, who are one nation, indivisible, is being sundered by the Democrstic Party in the name of naked ambition and disloyalty too the nation.
If that's the case I doubt JD Vance is aware of it so it doesn't matter. Won't matter for a decade or longer.

One of the things I feel gets overlooked about 1984 in discussion is the Party's control of language. Of course, the total decimation of a language has basically never been done on the level as portrayed in the book, but I feel like it's more of an exaggerated take on how movements and parties and governments control the narrative, and the discussion surrounding the narrative. It's not an estate tax, it's a death tax, they're not criminals, they're disadvantaged urban poor, we aren't discriminating, it's a meritocracy, and they weren't good enough.

Though really, with all the talk of Huxley and Orwell, I am a bigger fan of A Clockwork Orange.
The most overlooked aspect of 1984 is that prole entertainment is ai-generated by the party.

But Winston and Julia aren't proles
They're both Outer Party; I never said they were proles. Forming affectionate bonds with someone would cause trouble for Ingsoc, so they would have to police it within the Inner Party.

Incidentally, when they describe what Big Brother and Goldstein look like, rereading it as a more politically aware adult I realize they're both Stalin and Trotsky given their descriptions. Funnily enough, "Big Brother" was only 5'4'' IRL.

"Lil Dood" doesn't have the same oomf to it though.

You know I've always wondered how much of the world of 1984 actually is as presented and how much is simply an illusion created by the state. Do Eastasia and Eurasia even exist, or are they merely the creation of Oceania to fuel an imaginary conflict where a bunch of poor British saps are thrown in a field to blow up some vaguely Asian political prisoners in fake uniforms to make themselves feel good?

Does Oceania even exist, or is Airstrip One the only place that's actually like this and the complete lack of outside information is specifically crafted by the party to trick the native Bongs into accepting this as the global status quo, like an even more isolated North Korea?

I didn't find anything dumb in his video, I liked it and agree with him. I don't think I'm his target audience, but some people need to hear it. Unfortunately, I think the people that need to hear it won't watch it.
By dumb, I don't mean they are wrong, more that some are a bit pointless to give I felt.

But I guess that's because I already understood the point without him explaining it that much. Because it seems pretty obvious to me.

I don't know if you're high or this is a troll, but you need to get a clue, dude.
the party he mentioned, the American Solidarity Party, has a platform that doesn’t seem based on reality. no mass deportations, but free healthcare. economic security, but grovel to inferior countries and reduce our military bases abroad. environmental stewardship but no putting loonies/homeless in prison. and every single one of their policies sandwiched between woke “justice” initiatives

if Rod and Todd Flanders created a political party it would probably look like this

To be honest, I'm getting a bit tired of discussing this, so I'm going to make this last one short, I don't disagree with you that our nation has been routinely mismanaged for several decades, but I do not believe Trump's actions are having any tangible effect on any of these problems, and are not addressing systemic problems that have underpinned our Republic for a long time.

The other thing is that I have led my own life and have my own takeaways about the state of the world today based on the life I've lived, and what I have observed. I am no more an expert on this subject than you are, and I respect your opinion, despite very strongly disagreeing.

That being said, I don't want to keep cluttering this thread with my own personal opinions, so if anybody would like to discuss it further with me, please feel free to DM me!
Just wanna say I appreciate you engaging in civil, open discussion and not just doing the drive-by outrage-farm shitlib troll thing most of them do

the only president who actually cares about his voters. All of his voters. He's the only president who is trying to actually help regular people in tangible ways instead of giving nicely worded, vague speeches written by his staff of speech writers.
Ok I think your being a bit :optimistic: here. He's a politician.

Really. Overall that other guy is probably right. At least with that last post he made.

And the shit I see him actually fixing, seems more like surface level bullshit. That makes people happy in the moment. Meanwhile people are ignoring what I see as much larger problems more than ever, but looking at the culture war shit, as if that's the end all be all. Meanwhile all of the companies that helped bring that into existence, the ones that actually don't care about right vs left, just fucking you and everyone you know in every way they can, if it means line goes up, and they keep their power. Are going to keep doing business as usual. And they will pretend like they are on your side now. Keeping the dark money flowing to politicians, and influencing our laws.

In fact, since Trump has been in office, I have seen more that has made me worried about what the future will look like than ever. Even if he isn't directly contributing to it, he definitely isn't trying to stop it, and he is a great distraction to keep people from paying attention while laws get passed.

It would be great if things changed, it doesn't look like they actually are though.

I would disagree that he's a politician. The whole point of Trump is that he is not a politician. He's an outsider. He's independently wealthy, not a career politician, which means he's not beholden to a whole army of people. That's why the entire establishment of Dems and GOP hate him and tried to destroy him. Is he perfect? No. There's limits to the promises he can make and keep. But comparatively speaking, I do believe that Trump cares more than any president in recent history to do real good for the people of America.

When you say he's only fixing surface level bullshit, I don't know what you mean. He's trying to transform the entire economy of the nation and the entire geopolitical system. He's using tariffs as leverage to renegotiate US relations with every country. Bringing back jobs to America, bringing back manufacturing. Reducing tax payer money flowing into other countries. He's trying to reform the intelligence agencies, he's trying to take aim at the federal bureaucracy. He shut down USAID. He got major tax reductions passed into law. He's trying to rebuild the military, root out the subversives. He's literally blowing up drug cartel boats. He's sending soldiers into cities to restore law and order. He's trying to reform the health system in this country, etc, etc. How is all of this only surface level?

Trump will be the greatest president of my lifetime. Again, to an extent it's grading on a curve. No other recent president comes close to what Trump is trying to accomplish. The real test will be to see if your life improves during the Trump presidency. Is Trump going to wave a magic wand and make all corruption disappear? No. But a doomer attitude is always defeatist. If you want to only focus on the imperfections, that's all you'll see. I have no idea what the future will be, but Trump saved us from a Marxist totalitarian state like is being created in Europe. I just hope that we can avoid that once Trump is out of office.

Red state. You would not believe how bad the education system has gotten unless you personally experienced it. This was during peak woke though, so I wouldn’t be surprised if the curriculum’s been changed by now.
It hasn't gotten any better. It's deeply embedded in our education system.

Just like how the left gaslights the public with the lie "Antifa is just an idea!", they dismiss Critical Race Theory opponents the same way: "There's no actual CRT class, that's a right wing conspiracy theory!" The obvious duplicity of this defense is the principles of CRT are embedded throughout the entire curriculum your child learns. This gained a lot of attention in the late-2010s and there was an intense but short lived public outcry against CRT. A few governors outlawed CRT and everyone went home thinking the day was saved.

Not enough people talk about the delivery vehicle that was used to inject neo-Marxist ideologies like CRT into schools: Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) and Collaborative for Academic Social Emotional Learning (CASEL). These are pyschological manipulation frameworks for embedding leftist intersectional ideology into a child's self identity from an early age, essentially turning public schools into activist recruitment centers. This is far more insidious than watching a nigger play King Henry in a BBC documentary; it's literal brain washing.

CRT didn't go away; it was rebranded the same way DEI was changed to BRIDGE. With indoctrination pipelines like SEL, it doesn't actually matter what it's called since they all push the same Marxist principles either way. The school sytem needs to be purged.

Have you checked the price of gas lately?
On the west coast, it's still extremely high. A bunch of refineries are shut down, there was a critical pipeline that was down for a while, plus higher taxes on it, so it was over $5 in a ton of places a few weeks ago, and is still largely over $4.

Yeah, West Coast has their own set of unique problems. The president only has so much power. Gas keeps falling where I'm at. Eggs just fell again. But if Kamala were president, I guarantee gas and eggs and everything else would be even higher everywhere.
