not in the old way. all the spare ammunition and barrel liners were scrapped after the battleships were stricken from the rolls in 2006.

they'll have to build something new. Maybe rail guns, but probably conventional artillery. likely with a deep, deep missile magazine as well. The navy has played with the concept before, but more focused on missile deployment with the arsenal ship concept.
*slaps hull* You can fit soooo many VLS in this bad boy..."

China has been building ships like the US did during WWII, they really want an iron grip on all nearby shipping and to expand their influence. They harass non-Chinese boats continuously and they want more of that. Remember when the two Chinese boats collided while chasing the Pilipino coast guard, the Chinese had a swarm of like 100 ships show up afterwards as if WWIII was about to start because they rammed their own ship.

So I think we should increase our shipbuilding ability, personally. Whatever type of ships we end up with, I leave to the experts.
Battleship warfare died when we were able to drop bombs on them from planes launched miles away. Aircraft carriers, ships to defend them, submarines, and other fast craft would be essential in future conflict.

That's not how it works at all, mate. Guns at a certain size or greater have to be integrated in the ships design for balance and weight distribution.
If we just submit to physics like that we'll never get to see giant mechs in action!

Is that what you want!?

A world without giant robots with impractical weapons mounted on their shoulders?

why not a zoom call or whatever? You can goof off during Zoom. You are stuck in your seat during this.
Because zoom calls are for faggots and losers. It was all about the optics of being there, in the room, and having to focus on what you are being told. You have to be present and plugged in.

From what i understand the best types of ships you want to have for say defending trade boats are aircraft carriers.

Battleship warfare still occurred even then though, with the night battles of Guadalcanal being the most famous example, a situation where you couldn't just drop bombs on one. Ships underway also proved much harder to attack than people would think, even large ships, and battleships proved themselves quite resilient, being quite capable of withstanding a nuclear bomb. Outside of direct action they also saw extensive use still as escorts providing valuable antiaircraft and antiship support for carriers. The main issue with battleships is just how big of an industry you need to actually properly maintain one let alone build one and the fact that you can distribute less firepower over more hulls to achieve an adequate enough result for less maintenance and less degradation of capability when any one ship needs to be maintained.

Ironically the Internet was invented for the military so they didn't need these meetings. The faggotry ended today

Edit: Pritzker also has a personal Xitter account, and he posted a similar tweet on that one. For full clarity, I will include his other comment on the same video:

Gavin Newsom has run Cali to the ground and will never win Pennsylvania especially if the Amish vote.
women won't care, he's good looking and charasmatic and says all the right things. itll take 3 years of pounding all of newsom's financial mistakes before shitlibs can wrap their minds around what they are and how much they cost; california's still don't understand that newsom's carb picks have increased gas prices and led to the shutdown of phillips 66's and valero's refineries. itll be the same across the nation, the left wing version of trump's economic policies causing inflation.

Pritzker is newsom without the charm but with the dynastic family wealth. doubt pritzker has the grace to be newsom's VP. but again, Chicago voters continue to vote for the policies hurting them.
