Thats just discord a big ression that you see a lot of this is simply beacuse its the alowed speach witch then propegats its self around on these platforms. It dosent help that most conversation happens in these shit holes. Back on dating its been rough i got stood up ressintly and was told its was beacuse i was annoying even tho it would of been our first time meeting irl very fustrating.
Are you retarded?

"wanting to avoid politics is fascism".
And Democrats wonder why they are loosing moderates. Their toxic moral absolutism got turbocharged during covid when they started claiming not wearing a mask was literally killing grandma. Its the same extreme line of thought when they claim "silence is violence" and try and guilt people into their regressive, retarded causes.

Has anyone else's friend group been basically hijacked by woke politics? Everything my (now ex friends) talked about in the past couple weeks is trans this trans that (in the affirmative position). Asking them to keep politics out of our chat was met with "wanting to avoid politics is fascism".
I wish people actually cared about something where I live. Even if it's the opposite of me. Apathy is extremely high here to a point they just can barely bring themselves to care. And sometimes I wind up falling into that loop. Wokeness isn't really a thing where I live though, and I try to avoid politics since it always results in someone shouting.

Do you think the interest in power metal on social media will lead to a revival of the genre? UK Garage and the Hardstyle revivals have me optimistic but metal feels so dead outside of mainland Europe.
Maybe if it is indie.

No company is going to support it as it is too costly when compared to pop or rap music.

Never seen it either, but doesn't stop some people going to me "YOUR GENERATION DOESNT WORK OR THINK. BACK IN MY DAY WE WORKED HARD" Yet they always leave out they had cushy jobs because of their now gone unions, and very generous pensions. And they give very dated advice the typical "just walk in and give them a firm handshake!" or "look at them straight in the eye and demand a raise" Latter can't be done because the unions are gone :story: Same with the industrial jobs they worked. And for the thinking part, they ask chatgpt for every single little bit of advice
They exist and make things extremely hard for the hard working Zoomie. I knew plenty of Zooms who avoided all work throughout high school and college, usually using sports as an excuse. Even now there are Zoomers who I have seen just straight up leave their job and hop on unemployment. If you head into some threads, there are other Kiwis that will attest to seeing Zoomers just not give a fuck about their career.

As someone who puts in the work across both a full-time and part-time position, it is extremely frustrating as this shit clearly hampers the generation as a whole getting anywhere. I understand it as a lot of jobs are total shit pay, and even the lazy slogan is just an excuse for more cheap labor, but it does wreck things if you are trying.

In many cases, I just won't blame them. Sure, there are lazy workers out there who just sit around and bum around. Yet I cannot blame them for being frustrated since barely anyone is hiring at the moment, depending where they live. If I didn't get this job out of pure luck, I would be in a much more miserable position and I would have to move out sooner than later. The private sector jobs that pay really well are crammed in the same few cities if you're into white collar. Blue collar has more flexibility, but in some cases you won't be making a lot of money right off, and there are cases where they quit earlier than not because they hurt themselves.

Not to mention if you have a union that gatekeeps all the jobs, and refuses to let anyone else in since it's just a clique of boomers. I think many zoomers are so burned out at this point and can hardly care anymore. You deal with fake hirings, bullshit games with recruiters like picking your color, get ghosted half of the time, get told someone else was hired which was usually someone in the company. I know networking exists for private sector and in some cases for public sector, but it's very difficult to break into so I don't blame them for checking out. Which sucks because things aren't getting cheaper, and the job market doesn't seem to be improving for a long time.

I really do believe apathy has completely ran through the zoomer generation like crack in black areas. Everyone does not form opinions, have goals, or even does anything anymore. Most people seemingly just go to instagram and see "Popular person doing xyz" and mimic them.

I know quite a few people who are die hard far lefties but when you ask for any explanation behind their reasoning or worldview they just shut down. I don't understand how someone can just not have any principles or internal rationalization for their actions. It's an overused term but most people really do seem like NPCs lol

Every other generation does this too. They just use TV (or I guess Facebook nowadays) instead of Instagram Reels.
I guess that you could make the argument that zoomers do this more than everyone else because their phones are more prominent in their lives than TVs are in everyone else's lives, but their similar enough that I can't bother with emphasizing the distinction.
That being said, I think you are right about zoomers not doing anything (or at least as much) anymore. It feels like nowadays, they are hesistant towards trying anything new.

I'm convinced CIA, Mossad, and all manner of other such federal agents have infiltrated into certain cohorts and disseminated regressive rhetoric which masquerades as social justice, for the explicit purpose of discrediting the moderate left just like what they did to Occupy Wall Street in 2008. They seem to do it in order to not have to deal with any kind of serious threat to the status quo. The overabundance of hostile messaging towards those people who are sympathetic towards the Kirk assassination only drives home this notion: that those responsible for the shift in public opinion get to discredit the pro-Palestine left with accusations of anti-Americanism and antisemitism. At the same time driving those who mourn Kirk further into the arms of the Zionist cause. They are low information voters who have been so brainwashed by post-WW2 propaganda that they have been convinced to kill their fellow Christians with rockets, drones, and white phosphorus. Due to the fact that Kirk upheld pro-Israel initiatives for so long, it won't make any bit of difference in the long run for his paymasters to witness the support for Zionism waning among the American citizenry. They support these initiatives, but it comes at the cost of national security. Another 9/11 looms.

I'm lucky to have the job i have now, but looking for anything even secondary is a struggle as well. I applied for some retail stocking positions part-time just so I can work like an extra 12ish hours, and nope, rejected.

Edit: added
Part-time to me is like extra hours, not maximizing the legal time limit of part-time hours. Even my dad who is semi-retired, has been trying to find the same thing as well, work extra how many hours that keeps him active but won't kill him.

I definitely have run into this constantly and it's very annoying yeah. Every "part-time" job now seemingly wants 24/7 365 availability where you work 1 hour short of being full-time. I just want a part time weekend job so I can pay my bills. I don't get how non wealthy people are supposed to make it much longer tbh

Even the shittiest jobs where I live won't hire, :story: Even the crappiest warehouse isn't, and those are mostly the jobs in a reasonable commute. No sane person is going to drive one hour commutes back and forth. Not counting stuff like weather, and that the closest place with lots of jobs, is also losing them :story: Only place hiring I think is Walmart, and we all know how that is. Everyone I know who worked there quickly quit, and talked about how horrible it was. But since there's barely any jobs, it becomes harder to leave :story:

I used to recommend public sector jobs, but those are very difficult to get into. Even the local city hall jobs are full of old ladies here who refuse to retire despite being in their seventies and eighties. They've been working there before I was born!

I would used to say "tell them no" but now they just fire you rather quickly. Or just keep reducing your hours until it doesn't exist. Doubt the job market is going to fix itself for a very long time.

This is exactly what happened when I did warehouse work at a retail store on the weekends for extra money. They just kept cutting my hours until I was getting 0 hours per pay period. They clearly wanted me to quit but idk why they wouldn't fire me lol.

And yeah the Job market seems fubar ATM lol. Everyone in my friend group is barely scrapping by

I hate to be that guy but have you guys looked at industries facing labor shortages in your area and thus would be still hiring?
Unfortunately in my area the only "industries" having any shortages are retail and food service. I already work a 8-5 m-f full time job, haven't had any luck finding a part time weekend role yet

I agree that us Zoomers should still try and break out of our shells, but have you seen how much of a mess the world is in right now? We have to find a way to motivate the Zoomers and the later generations, or we will have nothing and we will be nothing by the next century.

Really wished there some form of optimism for this statememt but all these opportunities are being pillaged and ransacked by either the boomers/millenials and their servants or by zoomers who have been brainwashed to kingdom come.

Do you think the zoomer cohort suffers from a lack of purpose and meaning? If you raise kids on a diet of nihilism-there are no truths, do whatever feels good-it isn't surprising that they'll grow up lacking purpose and try to find it in some crackpot ideology.
