It really does feel like a shitty movie script they wrote. I don't know if that is post rationalization because I heard that before reading the transcript or if it is genuinely really unnatural at this point though. If I had to put money on it I'd say they all knew and planned it, but I wouldnt be terribly surprised either way. I'm sure if it was pre planned and they knew about it there will be a dead giveaway showing that, even if it goes back a couple months or years.

The compromise to a lot of leftwing people just meant "give us what we want and you get nothing". Effectively the 2A cake meme. Bipartisanship is to be inherently distrusted, but I'll say that Fetterman from PA is doing a good job as a moderate democrat. The Squad retards in general have made calls that piss me off more than pro-Israel shit because they don't veil shit behind "this country is our ally." They'll out right say they are more loyal to illegal immigrants or Somalia. Seriously, Rep. Delia Ramirez and Ilhan Omar have both said this shit recently.

You are allowed to be a Patriot to this country as long as that patriotism means nothing. You were allowed to be a Conservative in this country as long as you conserved nothing, that seems to have changed or Conservatives are more willing to fight.

This is the kicker. I could not get my Dad to admit that people (democrats) celebrating the death are wrong. I thought surely he would concede on this. He conceded nothing but just went on with whataboutisms and muh both sides.

I honestly don’t know how to continue our relationship. I will for the sake of my kids having grandparents and being civil, but it all feels so hollow knowing I cannot be honest about myself and my family with my own father without provoking liberal rage.

I’m so bummed and angry. I fucking hate feeling so isolated.

Outside of some sort of epiphany from him which won't happen there is just nothing you can do besides visiting as little as possible honestly. MSM did a fucking number on lib boomers specifically and they are just going to continue to get worse I tried with family members but they live in a completely different world and really the biggest issue is just they had no idea how to NOT talk about politics.

Wish there was more to say but many people here have been through similar stuff in the last decade and it sucks every time you hear about it.

I think people are perfectly fine to shit on Kirk for what he has been saying or make edgy jokes, but that's (mostly)not what people are losing their jobs over.
What I don't think is fine and what is the main difference is between then and now is people just openly praising/justifying a literal terrorist attack and spread easily verifiable misinformation about it.

Popper's "paradox" is just a thought experiment, not something to live by.
It just basically says "If you tolerate everything then you will also tolerate someone willing to kill you, so there are some things you must not tolerate to keep a mostly tolerant society", that's it. The idea that it means that you should silence people expressing their political believes peacefully is insane.

Broadcast stations have specific guidelines to follow and always have. One of them is outright lying and misleading, which Kimmel did.
 
Increasingly glad that people are idiots and keep going mask off with accounts that link to them, their face and their professional jobs. Terrible opsec and smugness of "being right" is making them lose their jobs because cancelling for incorrect opinions is only something that happens to right wing people in their minds.

Reminder the people saying this kind of shit ARE the same exact fucking people that were celebrating in the first place.
There is a 100% overlap. When you know you're not talking to some random democrat but someone standing over the body with a bloody knife the confusion over what theyre saying makes a lot more sense.
