Just to add onto this. You can shoot people in the dick and it counts a critical hit and they'll grab onto it screaming in pain. You'd think it'd get old but it doesn't, RRC is one of the only games you can perform a no knock neutering on NPCs and more people need to know about it.
Yeah I keep wondering whether to spoil that but yes, all head shots in the game count as head shots. ;)

Plus it's an achievement! And there's an upgrade to have even MORE BLOOD show up, in proper Robocop fashion!

Just want to let all the based Deus Ex fans here know...

Robocop Rogue City (at least as far as I've played) is so much like DE:HR if you had any love for that game, you'll really enjoy RRC. (and yes, I do know about the blatant Robocop joke that was in DE:HR - it's all coming full circle)

Anyway, really great game. Can recommend. Almost makes me want to try being partially a meatbag for a day.
Thanks for the info. I absolutely LOVE HR and have played it through at least a dozen times over the years.

(I save Faridah Malick every time because FUCK those Belltower faggots. They can eat Upgraded Typhoon and Explosive .357Magnum rounds all day.)

I think he may be just a little too harsh on Invisible War but otherwise accurate.

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of HR but i would not in any way shape or form call it "perfect". It's the 2nd best in the series but it's still not in the same league as the original. 10/10 have to be reserved for the OG so on that curve HR was probably an 8/10.

Couldn't get into MD for whatever reason.

I've been replaying Human Revolution since I finally managed to "find" a non-DC copy and honestly, why was the "piss filter" such a big deal back then? It's not that yellow.
Oh, and this line would never fly in a Current Year™ game.

i mean its pretty yeller frfr
as far as i know the golden piss filter is only on the non director's cut edition of the game, the one you can buy on steam has it disabled but it also has the shitty missing link dlc as a mandatory part instead of optional which sucks massive ass as you lose ammo and augments. 1750037843006.webp

I mean it's "perfect" after screaming about the first game as "THE GOAT - THE GOOOOOOOOOAT"

Which to me translates as exactly what you said: 10/10 vs 9/10.

(really I just wish the later missions had more time - I wanted more side quests to help out the poor little old lady that saved Adam as a baby. And to explore China more.)

The original gold piss filter from the 2011 release can still be turned on in the DC through a mod. Still. that doesn't take away the fact that TML can't be skipped even on NG+

After playing the game with the developer's commentary it still saddens me how much SE made Eidos lower the scope for HR. The original plan was to have three more hub cities in upper Hengsha, Montreal (it would have been the lead up to the Picus level) and Bangladesh instead of the repeated visits to Detroit and LH. For the earlier it's even more painful since the director mentions that the conceptualization part for upper Hengsha was basically done and they were going to start modelling the city when SE gave them the mandate to hurry up and cut the entire hub.

That and the fact that the endings were originally tied to separate quests just like in the original DX but were also forced to replace it with press X to see Y ending buttons due to time constraints. The Hyron Project fight as well was going to be much bigger in scope with a wall of pod people that would be destroyed over the course of the fight similar to the matrix but had to be cut again due to time and technical limitations.

Sascha Dikiciyan just released some of the music that didn't make the cut into MD's OST a few hours ago that includes some in-game level music, cutscenes and even discarded composition sketches that weren't included in the game at all in varying degrees of completition (Some unmixed, some others unmastered and some that are plain incomplete). Albeit this is a drop in bucket compared to what's left of the in-game soundtrack to receive a proper release, the fact that some of the cutscene music can now be properly be enjoyed without the SFX and foley is nice.

He's said that he's open to make more releases of this if there's enough public interest, albeit the terms of use in his bandcamp are rather excessive (no reposting nor remixing of any kind), he justifies it by saying that he got fed up with fan reuploads not crediting him properly.

Here's to hoping McCann does something similar, as he has been AWOL since 2023 and his last game was an early access isometric roguelike. IIRC he's currently a nomad across the east china sea but his YT mentions that he plans on reuploading most of his works at the end of the year as he's currently remastering them all.

What are people's thoughts on Revision? I'm debating trying it but I haven't heard good things. It looks crisp tho.

From what I've seen, it adds some mechanics from the Metal Gear Solid games, and a bunch of foliage and stuff to every level. Liberty Island gained a bunch of trees, for example. The game still feels the same to play.
Yeh, I loaded into Liberty Island and noticed the foliage but also that a bunch of the items were replaced with different shit, elsewhere entirely, or simply gone in addition to the other stuff like the UNATCO building exterior area and the area with the security bot being different. Ditto for some of the enemy placement. I know there's an option to disable the tangible changes but I've heard that's not entirely accurate. The reason I ask is because I'm kind over the "Deus Ex+" style of overhaul a la GMDX and was curious if Revision was more its own thing or closer to vanilla.
