I unsubbed from moldmire some time ago. Silksong turned out much better than Hollow Knight, go look at some late game movement and tell me it's not good. Synth had a rare W when it comes to this game.

Sidenote, MatthewMatosis's reviews aren't all that long on average, and yet his insight was far more compelling and informative than Synth's and the other reviewers he mentioned combined. The cost is he took time to condense his videos (Not that hard) so it wasn't just 80% him rambling about being a genetic dead end unable to maintain or form real relationships or petty sperging at his audience. You can really tell his videos were passion projects instead of something he desperately needed to milk. Which is why I still rewatch them to this day because of how in-depth and to the point they are. If only there were an essayist that had the analytical insight of Matthew and the keen noticing ability of someone like American Krogan (Minus the Autism).

Devin literally admitted he has no opinions of his own and just parrots the most popular/contrarian opinions off /v/ to see how many people he can trick or piss off. It's too bad matthew became an extreme perfectionist, because it's surprising how well the early videos aged. Maybe not the first handful but you can go back and watch his Metal Gear or Mario reviews and they're still better than 99% of game videos on youtube now and they didn't take 6 months to make

Yeah I want them back too. I don't like souls likes that are souls likes just for the sake of riding the wave. I think a hybrid of sorts that learns from both would be great, 2000's hack and slash action games were fun but a little too simple at times.
