Featured on Sep 10, 2025 by Null: Charlie Kirk, co-founder of Turning Point USA (TPUSA), was assassinated during a Utah Valley University event. FBI states they have video of the shooter but no further details are public.

Charlie Kirk was shot at an event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah on Wednesday.

Bystanders report seeing Kirk shot near his neck during a Q&A with students.

A suspect is in custody, according to a UVU alert sent to students. The campus is on lockdown.

Multiple reports currently say Charlie Kirk made it to the hospital and is currently stable but the extent of his injuries and likelihood of recovery isn't currently known. He is in critical condition.

I wonder what’s going through Trumps mind right now. Watching any of that video, that’s what they wanted to happen to him. On TV, in front of the world. It was an act of God that it didn’t. I can’t imagine the temptation he’s fighting right now.

Charlie Kirk supported Israel over Hamas/wasn't a fan of the Pro-Palestine crowd, but he was absolutely not a fan of the US sending unlimited aid/weapons/support/etc. to Israel, nor was he a fan of Israel indiscriminately bombing Gaza, causing the death of children. Essentially, he thought the Israel/Gaza conflict was Israel's problem to deal with, not America's, & he didn't like the idea of US made weapons potentially being used to kill Gazan civilians.

No, he didn't. Deinstitutionalization started in the 1950s, went on steroids in the 1970s, and was 99% complete by the end of that decade. The last handful of preventative long-term involuntary commitment asylums that were still around (not the same thing as asylums for mentally ill who had already committed serious crimes) closed in the early 80s and would have closed no matter who was president
