I don't know what the rules are now, but you used to have a couple of weeks to register your address at the public office. Legally, he can't do too much without it printed on his gaijin card.

He'll have 14 days to get it, but Japan lets you use a hotel (an actual hotel) as a temporary address until you can get a permanent residency address. He would actually be doing himself a favor if he left his friends couch and just paid for a hotel room, but it seems like he can't afford it. As Oliver said (I think it was Oliver), he really fucked himself over by quitting his AT&T job without saving up a bunch of money first. I really can't believe that Cheebs quit his cushy job for some half ass job options and then blitzed through any money he had before moving to Japan, every decision Cheebs makes is an IRL footgun.

Sometimes the mind of a person like Chibi is incomprehensible to me. He knew he was gonna bleed cash and still decided to buy a Switch 2 just so he can play Donkey Kong anyways and now it's just a brick with nothing to play. Not like those 500 bucks would save his ass in the long run but still. And instead of maybe thinking he should get his essentials first, he thinks about buying monitors and a setup for his PC without even having a real place to stay at yet just so he can stream for 5 people. Nobody wants to see him stream gaming. Not like he has the personality to become a big IRL streamer either though.

Yeah, I said it before, but his mom really helped beat into him the idea that if he just gives up and lets a problem get serious, somebody will come and bail him out. I wouldn't be surprised if somebody from the Government is already breathing down his neck since he's been there for over two weeks and all he has to show for it is a phone number and two live streams of himself getting food.

One would think throwing yourself into an attempt of independence in another country would override the desire to be a Disney Nintendo adult, but a $500 paperweight and computer equipment to play KH2 randomizers or whatever he's into these days is beating having a semi-permanent address.

I'm convinced that at least some, if not most of the people in his Discord who are supporting his bad choices are also posters in this thread. It's not exactly a-logging or cowtipping IMO, since they aren't harassing him or planting ideas in his head. Rather, they are encouraging someone to follow through on their own bad ideas, basically opening a long call into the milk market if you will. "It's delicate... but potent."

If they are indeed just videogame autists like Chibi who have the same rosy, optimistic, lackadaisical view of reality from the safety of their parents' basement, then that is indeed even funnier though.
