I'm surprised it's still as popular as it is today with Deltarune because I assumed most of those former fans are adults now and have moved past it. The moralfagging and pretentious 3rd wall break fuckery gets annoying real fast when you aren't a kid and think it's shuper deep.

The fanbase is insane though, I don't know why they're so hyperfixated on these games beyond them being the big thing when they were teens.

If I had to guess, it's probably because most of the fanbase are just manchildren and womanchildren who have never mentally progressed beyond their young teenage years. People like that comprise a significant portion of any given obsessive online fanbase.

Idk, these people's idea of a "queer relationship" is just literally any relationship that isn't nominally "cisman/ciswoman". Straight women with straight boyfriends are like "I identify as nonbinary in my head, so that means my boyfriend must be non-heterosexual and we're in a queer relationship!" So take literally anything that gender activists have to say about "queer" relationships with a massive grain of salt.
Also most women are heterosexual, I don't think they're interested in "queer" or "non-heteronormative" romance to begin with, they enjoy heterosexual dynamics the most. I'm not gonna act somehow morally superior over them for that, that shit would be stupid.

It puts one thing as the center for it's game mechanics and plot. I won't argue that Undertale has some (poorly) ingrained messages about emotions, relations between people - but it all eventually comes back to the question of being a pacifist or not, since you need to finish the game at some point or another. I think my highlighted post shows nicely enough how bad the writing and gameplay interception is in this case.

I'm speaking about fan-bases generally in this case - were there any instances of an artist creating for an equally cancerous fandom, and successfully ignoring all controversy while still creating in the same vain he\she did? Nah, I'm sure some actual Metroidfags can be more thorough, but the "Samus is canonically MTF" bullshit was from an interview where one of the official devs claimed that Samus's secret is that she isn't really a woman, she's a "shemale." (This was a fan translation, the actual Japanese word used was newhalf AKA futanari.) This was a joke, for the record. I got a laugh out of it, but it was bizarre to see the Woke crowd embrace this instead of pointing out that it's sexist to joke that a biological woman can't be tall and muscular like her original design was.

Honest question, are straight women really peer pressured into liking queer relationships? I remember hearing stories about women getting harassed for liking "boring" straight ships and yet the only time I saw someone get pressured into it was this one "aromantic" woman drawing art of two opposite sex background characters and having to tell her "queer" friends on Twitter that she saw these two characters as just friends because her friends headcanon the girl as a lesbian. Needless to say she never had to state anything like that on her Instagram when she uploaded the art on there. (it helps that her queer friends aren't as active on there.)

Its honestly sad though, imagine hiding the fact that you like a straight ship all because your "queer" friends will harass you over the fact that you drew art of a girl that your friends headcanon as a lesbian (who's not even gay in canon anyway) with a guy?
