It's hard to say, considering how much crap Scotty pulled with Josh. The pokemon blanket springs to mind. I wouldn't call someone willing to rip off another person like a true friend.. but empathy and sympathy are strong emotional responses that majority of humans have. Maybe even Scotty has a heart deep down.

Cobes has always held the rights to a very special cig butt in my proverbial ash tray, and this is making me feel like I'm watching a little brother slowly turn necrotic, but not in a goth way (yeeeesth), but in the same way I watched loved ones succumb to cirrhosis; it's a slow, yet rapid, process that makes you feel helpless in doing anything to stop the snowball effect of compounding medical complications. I've always said it was the teeth that would do him in, and I am still standing by that conclusion; there has got to be massive amounts of bacteria pouring into his bloodstream from the stumps he has left. I mean for God's sake, his ROOTS were EXPOSED fucking YEARS ago, that is a level of criticality that would make any dental hygienist have a panic attack. His organs were already compromised from his diet, lack of exercise, and boozing, I think the oral health was the final bell in the tower that has closed the circle of protection so tight that it no longer encompasses his whole body.

Pourin one out on the carpet, checking the bottle, and then a lil more for you Cobra. Clunt, you are truly a piece of shit, you and I both know your negligence of Cobes' wellbeing was egregious, boys like our Boglim need to be held in line, or they will just stray so far off the correct path that no one will have the ability to wrangle them back. As much as a fruity weirdo Clunt is, I don't hold this one against him. What was he supposed to do, physically live with the boy and stop him from drinking every time by slapping the drink out of his hand? We saw how well that went in the green basement days. I know everyone wants an easy target to be mad at, but it is what it is. The boy made a choice long ago to drink himself to death, and he's legally an adult who can do choose to do so unfortunately.

The whole thing is a rat's nest of bad or worse choices. If he hadn't given the boy an easy mode "independence" by continuing to help by managing rent/food deliveries (which let's be honest, he was never gonna make it to that level on his own even at his best decades ago), this arguably would have spiraled out of control probably a lot earlier.

I'd argue Josh is one of those weird edge cases that should "probably" be in a group home setting but just barely squeaked by as competent despite the mountains of video/photographic evidence to the contrary. The definition of falling through the cracks of the system. If anything Cobes is uniquely American, and giving us an up close and personal look at how that system can fail.

Me neither, he has what? 2 or 3 perfectly normal daughters. He has already cut his losses with Cobra, it was also a good call to keep him away from the girls (i don't know if Cobra would do anything, but better safe than sorry).
You're 100% correct about the group home, i think he used to be a high-functioning retard, but after all the duster and drinking he became a true tard and there's probably some reavaluation needed to show that, but i'm not sure.

Combine the teeth and bad diet with how mentally unhealthy his lifestyle is and you're getting it. Cobra also gets harassed 24/7, rarely goes outside and hasn't had a proper job in 7 years. And to top all that off, his last relationship was so abusive that she almost made him kill himself. That lack of structure and hopelessness can really do a number on someone's health, regardless if they have lolcow plot armor or not.

What I am worried about is the aftermath. Cobes brought a lot of love to the internet, both genuine and sarcastic, and as things trucked along so did the content cycle. Soon as the boy actually biffs it, shit is gonna get ugly. All the redditards are gonna stake Clunt to a wall for not saving the big poor baby from himself, it's gonna be a shitshow, and they'll still somehow manage to thread the needle by making the boy look like a super serious ultra molester while also a big fat baby kicking his feet who dindu nuffin.

Just wait till Cobes is dead and in the ground and this thread is nothing but updates about Nal/the alogs pillorying Clunt. I can easily imagine the coming dark age of a locked Cobes thread in lolcows of history, with a growing horrorcow thread about Clunt.

I think so, people can live with cirrhosis for a long time, it's going to be AWFUL and you're going to visiting the hospital frequently, but i think he's going to be around for a few more years.
Now, imagine not only that, but he develops high blood pressure and/or diabeetus, then he's fucked, he's already a chunky monkey, so he could easily stroke out or have a heart attack before his liver goes bye bye. Shit, Cobra would be FUCKED if he developed diabetes, he would need to control his glucose all the time and he wouldn't even remember to take metformin (or injecting insulin if it came to that).
Also, if he has pancreatitis it's also something to be worried about because that shit can lead to heart failure if it's not treated (and he doesn't quit drinking).
