1. She was already a political lifer, so she really didn't have anything to prove in terms of "Can she hack it in politics?"
2. Obamas and Clintons don't like each other. 2008-2016 was Barack's time in the sun.
3. Bubba Bill Clinton was already president. Hillary has automatic cred, especially since she was credited with some of Bill's decisionmaking.
4. She actually ran for the full primary in 2012 if I remember correctly.
