A reddit thread kinda explains how twitch subs work when everyone is subbed, and while you can GIFT subs, if you have less viewers, and all viewers have subs, the gift subs work as follows from what I can tell

-gift sub first targets current viewers
-if all viewers have subs, target recent viewers
-if all recent viewers have subs, target general "COMMUNITY" (IE, are you a tf2 streamer? gift sub goes to random tf2 viewers)
-if all of those already have subs, goes to completely random twitch user

Maybe none of this matters if all of those were viewbotted, but basically this kneecaps growth, since subs mainly help by incentivizing random joins to stay longer and follow because they got a sub, but this is less and less likely the more removed you are from a person.

So even with sub 90% refund with khronos, this money will effectively be burned since he won't be making new joiners subbing with their own money.

Also hes only CONTINUED to decline, and is rapidly approaching dropping under 1 mil. When he does, we need a community feature for sure.

He definitely was View Botting, at least I feel he was. What's interesting is he hasn't really recovered from his WOW roaching incident, and this shit with SKG has probably dealt a mortal blow to his channel. He STARTED to recover a little back in April and May, but the moment Ross talked about how much of a cunt he was, it's just all been downhill, as you pointed out. Doubting this because Jason loves to show off everything about his mushrooms and we've never seen this afaik. With how dumb he was trying to make oyster spawn jars it seems like he knows little about aseptic technique. Flow hoods are expensive and bulky. You can cut two arm holes in a cheap clear plastic storage tote and make a "still air box" which achieves the same ends (through different means) as a flow hood. So a flow hood is only really great for saving time / speeding things up if you're doing lots of lab work all the time.

Grain is technically, yes, a substrate. But nobody calls grain "substrate". They just call it "grain". Substrate is a used to refer to something like a big block of sawdust with some nutritional additives. You sprinkle some fully inoculated grain spawn into your substrate. Eventually the substrate becomes fully inoculated and can produce mushrooms.

Jason is a little talking out of his ass here saying you "turn waste into food". Grain is not waste, it's literally food already. Northspore guy corrects him on this. Jason lies so much about little things and nobody's every around to check him. I'm generally not a fan of northspore as a company but it's refreshing to have the northspore guy counter Jason's (admitedlly minor) bullshit

i have that cert. not the easiest multiple choice i've done in my life, the answers are very similar and they try to trick you a fair bit.

took me a week to study for it, though. not knowing anything about it beforehand and without following the lectures.

Not from a mycology background but biomedical sciences deals with a lot of the same practices so I just want to add to this lovely poster that if you haven't already noticed, aseptic practices in the lab is really fucking trivial to understand and memorize. It's literally like 4 steps of first putting the loop under a flame to sterlize it, opening the petri dish making sure to hold the lid, streaking sample across the agar (not gonna explain how to do it since it doesn't matter here), closing the lid and sealing it, and then holding the same loop under the flame. I don't know if mushroom chads need to inoculate petri dishes in the same way as one would with bacteria (I'm assuming) but I'm willing to bet a lot of money that Jason has no idea how to minimize contamination if he can't even do the basic task of gathering proper materials.

Quick question: do you really need a flow hood for growing mushrooms as a hobby or is it mainly performative considering Jason lacks little to any proper technique regarding cultivation of biological samples?
