The Roblox Erotic Roleplay Community - "Roblox's ERP problem began in the mid 2010's as a quiet whisper. Over the next decade, this whisper would slowly grow into a blood curdling scream, audible from every corner of the platform."

Any company that is this aggressive about preventing anybody getting in the way of pedophiles using its platform to groom kids has pedophiles high up in the organization. Guaranteed. If a full investigation is done with everyone at the director level on up, you'll find quite a few of them consume or produce Roblox gooner content.
That's true, but the law needs more than just "gooner content" to convict somebody of pedophilia related crimes. They'd need chatlogs of the pedos in question trying to get the kids to meet up with them, for example, or logs of them showing the kids porn, for another example.

If all they found, hypothetically, is pornographic artwork of roblox characters, that's probably not enough for a conviction on it's own.

*walks right up with you and wants to tap it too*
*sees your post, frowns, opens up command prompt, connects old phone to computer, calls NASA, puts phone in data extracting device, exploits backdoor vulnerability to directly connect to a Kinetic Bombardment US space station, types in your coordinates, engages startup process, a titanium rod pierces earths orbit at 10.000+ miles per hour, impacts your approximate location and decimates your entire neighborhood*

Another internet argument won.

I think Roblox needs to have its logo updated.

I remember Roblox having a micro-economy for trading, right? Like you can trade Robux to other players for items. But it's not like the kids playing it are smart enough to tap into that. I think it's more for the child predators profiting off of children content creators making UGC.
Yes, limiteds. They were a major thing at the time because most of the items would be released in this form. You needed Builders Club to be able to trade items 1 on 1 but users use to be able to trade items. The problem is that this basically invited users to compromise accounts and to do follow on trades. The most famous of this being the dominuses which essentially invited theft. Subforums on the site existed such as Let's Make a Deal. (There were also other subforums like clans and guilds). ROBLOX now basically lost all of its community spirit.

Now, this basically is dead thanks to UGC. People can now upload cheap clones, and the value of limiteds exist through the serial number and them being one of the few items with comparative value.

The ROBLOX economy was actually really complex in the past. With Tix, they existed on a supply and demand level with ROBUX which meant that the value of a Tix fluctuated (now prices didn't dynamically change but even still). - With Tix being generated from daily visits to the site (10) and 1 per visit to a game. This invited bots but still. This existed in parallel to Robux being generated from real life currency (so basically tix was sorta pegged to real money).

Just one of the many neat little things lost from the site.

Eh. I was a kid unsupervised on IRC in the early 2000s. I turned out fine.

... wait.
In 2001 I was playing an MMORPG someone tried to ERP with me, but they lost interest when I did not engage.
Never really thought about it ever after, until this entire ERP topic came up.

There have always been creeps around. In the early days of the internet kids had "chat girlfriends/boyfriends" and even then there was a strict rule: "Never meet anyone without bringing at least one friend."

Parents these days are just too tech-retarded to understand what these games are and what can happen in there. They believe when something is marketed as "for kids", because usually that label is actually safe because regulations enforce that the product is actually safe for kids. If you got a retard white trash mother or Shaquisha living off food stamps and child support from the state with your 21 siblings, you rolled a Nat 1 on char creation and you are free food for predators because nobody will ever give a fuck about you or supervise what is happening with you.

Just the number of people who do not understand what WifI is in 2025 is astonishing. How are they gonna understand what a private server in some game is?

SAN MATEO, Calif. – Roblox as a policy does not comment on pending litigation. However, the company would like to address erroneous claims and misconceptions about our platform, our commitment to safety, and our overall safety track record.

Every day, tens of millions of people around the world use Roblox to learn STEM skills, play, and imagine and have a safe experience on our platform. Any assertion that Roblox would intentionally put our users at risk of exploitation is simply untrue. No system is perfect and bad actors adapt to evade detection, including efforts to take users to other platforms, where safety standards and moderation practices may differ. We continuously work to block those efforts and to enhance our moderation approaches to promote a safe and enjoyable environment for all users.

  • At Roblox, we are constantly innovating safety tools and launching new safeguards. In the past year, Roblox has introduced over 40 new features to protect its youngest users and empower parents and caregivers with greater control, including updated parental controls, stricter defaults for users under 13, and new content maturity labels.
  • Roblox has taken an industry leading stance on age-based communication and recently introduced new age estimation technology to help confirm a user’s age through a simple, quick selfie-video. This technology allows us to provide a safer and more tailored online experience for our users by accurately confirming their age and unlocking appropriate features. Read more in this blog post.
  • Roblox started as a platform for children, and while 64% of the user base is now 13 or over, the platform has rigorous safety features built in, and its policies are purposely stricter than those found on social networks and other user-generated content platforms. This includes rigorous text chat filters that block inappropriate language and attempts to direct users under 13 off the platform or solicit personal information. Furthermore, users under 13 cannot directly message others outside of games or experiences unless parental controls are adjusted, and direct image sharing between users is prohibited.
  • We dedicate substantial resources to help detect and prevent inappropriate content and behavior. Our Community Standards set clear expectations for how to behave on Roblox and define Restricted Experiences. We have both advanced AI models together with a large, expertly trained team with thousands of members dedicated to protecting our users and monitoring 24/7 for inappropriate content.
    • For inappropriate content: Our Trust & Safety team takes swift action (typically within minutes) to address violative material and accounts are removed through AI scans, user flags, and proactive monitoring, with a dedicated team focused on enforcement and swift removal. For instance, Diddy experiences violate our Real World Sensitive Events policy and we have a dedicated team working on scrubbing that content from the platform.
    • In August we released our latest open-source model, Roblox Sentinel, an advanced AI-powered system designed to help detect child endangerment interactions early for faster intervention. Human experts continue to be essential for investigating and intervening in the cases Sentinel detects. Read more in this blog post.
  • We know safety is critically important to families, and we strive to empower our community of parents and caregivers to help ensure a safe online experience for their children. This includes a suite of easy to use parental controls to provide parents with more control and clarity on what their kids and teens are doing on Roblox. Parents can:
    • Block or limit specific experiences based on content maturity labels
    • Block or report people on their child’s friends list
    • See which experiences their child is spending the most time in
    • Set daily screen time and spending limits
    • Families and caregivers can find resources detailing our safety measures here. (See blog posts from November 2024 and April 2025, and new safety tools for teens.)
  • Roblox collaborates with law enforcement, government agencies, mental health organizations, and parental advocacy groups to create resources for parents and to keep users safe on the platform.Through vigorous global outreach, we’ve developed deep and lasting relationships with law enforcement at the international, federal, state, and local levels. For example, we maintain direct communication channels with organizations, such as the FBI and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), for immediate escalation of serious threats that we identify.
    • We proactively report potentially harmful content to NCMEC, which is the designated reporting entity for the public and electronic service providers regarding instances of suspected child sexual exploitation. In 2024, we submitted 24,522 reports to NCMEC (0.12% of the 20.3 million total reports submitted to NCMEC).
  • In addition, Roblox maintains relationships with multiple child safety organizations. Roblox has partnerships with over 20 leading global organizations that focus on child safety and internet safety, and when developing new products or policies, we work with these and other experts to get their input.
  • Safety is one of the most important challenges facing the online industry today. We strongly believe the industry needs to work together to move the needle on safety, which is why we actively collaborate cross-industry to provide others with better tools for detecting grooming in chats.
    • We’ve been an active member of the Tech Coalition, a community of tech companies working together to protect children online, since 2018. We joined Lantern as a founding member in 2023. This first-of-its-kind cross-platform signal-sharing program enables participating companies to share information and take action on bad actors who move from platform to platform.
    • We also joined the Robust Open Online Safety Tools (ROOST) initiative as a founding partner to share new safety technology that can help advance the industry as a whole, beginning with our voice-safety classifier.
We aim to create one of the safest online environments for users, a goal not only core to our founding values but contrary to certain assertions, one we believe is critical to our long-term vision and success. We understand there is always more work to be done, and we are committed to making Roblox a safe and positive environment for all users.

Roblox Responds
It reeks of your typical empty platitudes that Corporations do to save their asses. This is horrible in every way possible and everyone knows this. The numerous threads on this forum that have Roblox as a topic have shown that this is either a flat out lie. There's also the possibility that executives are so isolated from what's actually happening that they have no idea to tell their ass from their elbow.

What a bullshit statement. It is clear that those claims are empty and false.
@Schlep and others demonstrated clearly how easy it is to access sexual content and how widespread it is all across the game.

we actively collaborate cross-industry to provide others with better tools for detecting grooming in chats.
lol, lmao even
Get fucked Roblox

Are they really?
Maybe it's a sign of the times, but as an avid kiddy MMO player back when I was a child, I don't recall games like Toontown, Club Penguin, Wizard101 etc. ever having an issue with predators, nor do I have any personal stories about creepy/suspect encounters. You could attribute this to the fact none of these games allowed UGC, but even so, Roblox certainly has the resources to painstakingly vet what kind of content gets through.
Fortnite is the only modern kiddy game I really know about, but I don't think they have it as bad over there either.
Club Penguin absolutely had grooming issues and I know that first hand as a proud CP veteran. The final server on the server list (I forget the name but it was called sub-zero or something) was the place the edgy kids went if they wanted to act more grown up - and it was filled with people trying to erp with you and getting you onto yahoo messenger or some shit like that, it was super fucked up. Some guy tried to groom me when I was a retarded 11 year old on that server, but I knew something was wrong and I just kinda fucked off. I told my dad about it later on, and he got super pissed off and emailed club penguin about it threatening to sue, and lo and behold like two days later that server suddenly became permanently safechat only meaning even they knew something was fucking wrong.

Can a CEO be this incompetent? Is David and Kaufman secretly pajeet skinwalkers? What's with these godawful sub 20 IQ decisions.
The company released an official toy to sell to children in physical stores of an NPC from a game they have on their platform (it was even skimpier ingame) which had its design heavily inspired from a hentai submission and created a shirt specifically for one of their former administrators by a questionable name, yet are spending their time focusing on hard moderating ANY UGC involving Schlep while deliberately ignoring the rampant pedophilia that's clearly in the open and extremely easy to moderate. That's hypocrisy. It's not incompetence, they're pretending; it's all pretty deliberate at this point. They clearly have the resources to enact proper moderation (they're making a conscious effort doing so right now specifically over Schlep) and it's reminding me of the fact Gavin Newsom clearly could remedy a lot of the homeless problem in LA yet only did so when Xi visited. Roblox could easily hire more moderation with the profits they were making, a serious priority to have had if they planned to add dating features. The company is unhinged and genuinely behaving like it's really siding with predators, either because they are too or purely out of greed, and it's most likely because THEY genuinely believe the mass population is more retarded than they are.

Their priorities are on clear, open, full display. The Roblox platform is legitimately giving off demonic vibes, and it's all revolving around money and CSAM. Big time predators love to flaunt this kind of stuff, sometimes act clueless and troll or scheme up talking points to manipulate the public and its discourse in order to achieve desirable results; they have their own little social networks and like to think they're like Idubbbz, "puppet masters."

David Stay loved to say it best, "they're mocking you!!!"

The conspiracy theorist in me is pontificating if the CEOs are clandestine NAMBLA members, grooming the delicate psyches of Gen.Alpha.
