very funny.
Did you pick the X in the bottom middle of level select?I feel like a boomer asking this but I downloaded that fan game remake of X8. I am enjoying it. I got the double jump upgrade first and then the upgrade that gives you invincible dashes and I swear to fuck there is no way to swap back and forth between the two upgrades. I hit every single button. Looked at the configuration. Went into the pause menu and nothing. Is this some kind of glitch, design flaw, or did I overlook something?
Well, that's fucking stupid. There should be some kind of hint or something in the options or in the pause menu telling you that. I guess the creator did that so you couldn't cheese certain levels but still.Did you pick the X in the bottom middle of level select?
It's really funny how often the same people I see complain about this regarding X5 suddenly go quiet as a mouse when it's pointed out Z1 and Z2 are even worse. And that you cannot skip every cutscene in Z3 despite common claims you can.I despise the Zero series because of constant unskippable cut scenes.
They're all bad but I could at least finish X5. I couldn't be bothered to play more than 2 levels in Z1 or 2. The cut scenes were that obnoxious. I hope Inafune dies of AIDS.It's really funny how often the same people I see complain about this regarding X5 suddenly go quiet as a mouse when it's pointed out Z1 and Z2 are even worse.
The cutscenes being unskippable are why you dislike the Zero series?
For me, the story and action was why I liked them, with Zero 3 being tied with X1 as my all time favorite in the franchise.
To be fair we are posting on KF, the premier webzone of autism on the capital-I Internet.Mostly. That and I found it very uninspired like most Mega Man games. My hypothesis is that being obsessed with the Mega Man franchise is a sign of autism. Nearly every game is almost exactly the fucking same.
Maybe in each sub-franchise, but the gameplay is significantly different between them, not to mention the various one-off spin-offs like the fighting and racing games. There's actually a lot of variety. My hypothesis is that being obsessed with the Mega Man franchise is a sign of autism. Nearly every game is almost exactly the fucking same.
You just reminded me of Mega Man Minus Infinity. That romhack was better than anything Capcom has ever touched with the IP.Then you got the guys making fangames that play basically nothing like the games that inspire them, making it very clear that people just like the characters for whatever reason.
I see. While I like Zero 1 and 2, it isn’t really until Zero 3 that the story really comes into its own, so I can see where you are coming from. If the story and characters didn't manage to grab you in the first two game, then it’s understandable that one would find them obnoxious. They're all bad but I could at least finish X5. FTFY.My hypothesis is that being obsessed with video gayme franchises is a sign of autism.
No way it's better than the Mega Man Battle Network series. And how's my last post autistic? You just reminded me of Mega Man Minus Infinity. That romhack was better than anything Capcom has ever touched with the IP.
He's just got "it".FTFY.
also both megaman and sanic are blue and autists love the blue hedgehog for some fucking reason.
Wasn't that one bull busting hard (since it was made by a Japanese Mega Man fan austic)? Usually that is my only problem with Romhacks. You just reminded me of Mega Man Minus Infinity. That romhack was better than anything Capcom has ever touched with the IP.
Pink Triangle status and you're also wrong. The games constantly recycle level designs, themes, weapons, end game boss, and etc. The only thing that truly changes are the bosses. The pattern of Mega Man titles is thus: make new game, make a rehash of the same game released the following year, do it again but this time add something new like a new ability or a weapon/item shop or a new playable character, make yet another rehash following the design of the last game, and rinse and repeat. That is until you get that RPG spin off series or that garbage Mega Man 64 game. But that's what spinoffs are for and don't really count. No way it's better than the Mega Man Battle Network series. And how's my last post autistic?![]()
True but the whole point is to give you insanely busted weapons that just rape everything on screen. The hack gives you a freakin' black hole gun that kills everything in one hit and you don't even need to aim it. It makes the freakin' saw blade from Mega Man 2 look like a shitty Dollar Store squirt gun by comparison.Wasn't that one bull busting hard (since it was made by a Japanese Mega Man fan austic)? Spin-offs don't arbitrarily not count. And your reading comprehension is non-existent. Yeah, if you compare Mega Man 1-10 to each other, sure, what you're saying is true, but if you compare Mega Man 2, Mega Man X7, Battle Network, and Star Force 3 to each other then there's very little similarity. There's a lot of recycling within a given sub-franchise in the series, but overall it's relatively diverse. The games constantly recycle level designs, themes, weapons, end game boss, and etc. The only thing that truly changes are the bosses. Not true, Mario and Sonic, as I cited earlier, are at least equally guilty of this. Pissy stickers and pointing at pink triangles won't change this. The argument from autists is that other games have done this. Which is true, however there's not nearly as many titles that are repeats in those other franchises.
They do and also prove my point because when Capcom does make a spin off Mega Man title they repeat the same formula and...Spin-offs don't arbitrarily not count.

Are you trying to say there's not a variety of spinoffs...?They do and also prove my point because when Capcom does make a spin off Mega Man title they repeat the same formula and...
There's about 14 2D Super Mario games, and depending on how you count them, between 13-18 2D Classic Mega Man games (excluding ports/remakes/etc for both series), so they're actually rather comparable in number. There's not nearly as many games by volume. Nintendo is smart enough not to flood the market with the same kind of game very quickly. Hence, there's a lot of Mario games but there's multiple different series with different gameplay styles and there's not nearly as many titles.
I agree with this, Nintendo didn't space the Mega Man games out nearly as well as Nintendo did with Mario.Limiting a new mainline Mario title to 1-2 per new console is smart and you don't oversaturate the market much like Capcom has done with Mega Man and also Street Fighter.
I'd say the opposite, most 2D Sonics are pretty similar with few exceptions. More different than Mega Man 1-6 but still what people would generally not consider "radically different".The Sanic titles are spread out by a few years and each one -for better and mostly worse- is radically different from the last with few exceptions.
