I worked at several corpos, there were always some people with the same surnames and entire departments would gossip if it’s a coincidence or simply nepotism. Usually it was the latter. There is no way Mald would go unnoticed. At least now we know the dad is just as much of a shitty compulsive liar.

HR would 100% know and that's what matters because that's who probably decided, after that it was just check boxes by the managers along the way. I can easily believe Mald's direct manager had no idea until he saw them talking to each other but also if they're talking casually like that, word would spread anyway. People knew.

See truly good programmers are slightly autistic good coders who TEND to want to stay out of the spotlight anyway. John carmack comes to mind, also notch, and edmund mcmullin come to mind. Passionate about making shit, but really not TRYING to be celebrities, and usually a bit socially inept

None of these people try to be really super cool looking or awesome, and are perhaps a bit antisocial, but all of them are at least competent AND / OR passionate about what they do.

Eric Barone / ConcernedApe is a good example of this in addition to those mentioned (though Carmack is a different breed). He's recently started putting himself in the public eye more, but he just grinded away at Stardew Valley by himself for a long time, didn't seek attention for it, and let the game speak for itself. Nobody cared how good his code was because he didn't talk about how good of a coder he was or how smart he was.

He also put in the time. Acerola did a good vid on why he is never going to be a game dev, and he did some cool analysis on skill sets people had going in. Eric just graduated with a degree in CS, and focused a lot on programming, so he has the chops for the code, while his main barrier was music and art. Meanwhile Toby Fox was the opposite, but both had talents that they had spent years crafting. Eric's tech, and Toby's music both represent massive pillars of game dev.

Jason has none of these.

That scene from taken, both Toby and Eric could say Neeson's line. Jason would say:
"I worked at Blizzard entertainment, and I am going to block this number." Insane behavior.

So I was wondering why Tectone would be so gracious and willing to give the Maldster the benefit of the doubt, well in this video from 8 days ago, where he's reacting to Atozy he admits that him and Maldo have been hugging and ass patting each other over the backlash from their past controversies. Nothing like being part of the elite eh?
