This is genuinely textbook material on how NOT to make a game, especially when you check under the hood and look at the butchery of code Maldavius shat out. I really want to see an actual, professional game dev pick this game apart.

Audio engineering autist here, I feel obligated to point out that reverb would not have that effect. The most convincing argument I've seen is the user here who pitched his voice up by 1 semitone and it sounded exactly like the interview footage seen in this video. Others have pointed out the proximity effect, which is absolutely a real phenomenon that sounds like bass boosting via EQ, but I firmly believe that he's using software to pitch it down a half-step. It is just subtle enough to not sound totally unnatural (dramatically altered pitch on a voice results in the sibilance and harmonics sounding obviously unnatural to our ears), except we can tell it's unnatural due to footage of him sounding like a nasally dork being on the internet. Based on my experience mixing/editing audio, I believe the most likely scenario is that it's a combination of pitching down a half-step, proximity effect leading to boosted bass in the signal, and voice training.

Maldaddy actually spoke fondly of mald later in the stream and said he wouldn't bring up things like him forgetting his birthday unless he thought it was funny. He also refuted the nepotism stuff saying that he only helped him improve his resume, and nobody knew they were related for 2 years.

Dude is way too soft. I wonder if Mald's mother wanted him properly raised but his father was too soft. And all those mommy inserts in heartbound are about this.
At some point you need to let your kid fail and hurt themselves. Otherwise they will end up like maldy, unable to cope with reality.

The stream's over now, but he was still full bore banning today. Sometimes you'd get up to 3 minutes between bans, most of the times you would get several bans a minute. No timeouts, all permabans. Piratesoftware is the Kamikaze Japan needed to win WW2. I admire his permabanning dedication. What a fucking idiot.

I think Keffals' thread was the fastest it got to 1000 after creation, From March 26 to August 19. That's a little under 5 months.
 
the entire arc for the cougar character starting and finishing in 10 minutes was genuinely jaw dropping to me. heartbound is like jason himself and constantly, loudly, lies to you about having choices and depth while meeting the absolute bare minimum dialogue branching and characterization that literally any 2d rpg would have. it doesnt have a single moment where its actually trying to be emo or have undertales nonlinearity, its just telling you in the most blunt way that it is those things and expecting you to believe it. the game feels more like a parody of the kind of guy who rambles about vague details for the game he WANTs to make rather than an honest RPG. not even the shittest itchio walking sims are like that
