Narcissists don't collaborate the way other people do. Normal people are satisfied with being a link in a chain. A narcissist has to be the whole chain, or atleast the linch pin to the operation succeeding.

Collaboration then becomes a pain-point because they can't take all the credit for the team's success, which leads to lying about their role in said team, like mald does. Every exercise in teamwork for them is predicated upon how they can benefit from it in some way.

For his game, any additional outside creative influence would undermine what he perceives as his role as the linch pin of Heartbound's "success". Another artist could replace Shaye, another composer could replace the last one, because the inventive coding and quirky writing come exclusively from his mind. All the rest is just window dressing to his genius.

Obviously that's not true, but I don't doubt he believes it.

I'm following this thread primary because of SKG and yet I can't help but notice how easy it would be for Mald to prevent all the drama. All he had to do was say "I was wrong about the EU initiative" and "I fucked up during the raid" and it would have prevented 95% of the bad press he's got. And it's not like he would have to be sincere about it, he could just have done what he does on the regular (lie) and it would save him 100k subscribers on youtube and his game from getting the "Overwhelmingly negative" rating on Steam.
