3. Mald but only because I assume the thread is moving too fast for either Mald or his discribes to read and get mad at.

I would assume Jason stopped paying massive attention to the thread around the clip of him saying "They're saying I'm fucking my ferrets". I could be off the mark here, but I imagine even Jason has his limits on disrespect he's willing to sit through. He's probably written the thread off and has one discribe reading posts to him every now and then if it's something major.

Maybe Black Templars? Lamenters? Imperial Fists? Definitely not Ravenguard because those guys are focused on stealth. Lamenters would probably match flavor-wise because they're the ultimate good guys for the imperium but mostly choose desperate missions where their mortality is nigh 100%. Or they get fucked by the writers. Don't know what that would speak for SKG.

Usually, story comes way later as you want to make sure your game can, well, run and play the damn game. Story should always come after. You can make flags in text boxes and such, but it doesn't have to be grandiose story, just something that says like, "I'm the boss, and now you will fight me." Later you can add the monologue, once you debug and playtest everything else.

He should know this if he's in QA.

There's nothing in game development where you do everything at the start unless you're producing slop right off an assembly line. Anything else requires constant iteration and editing and you learn what the final piece will look like as you work on it. On that note the average person's idea of a "game design document" is completely wrong because you don't design games from the top-down unless you're slightly iterating on something that already exists, like AAA slop or game clones. They're more useful for just keeping track of details you want to keep consistent and not actually "designing" a game.

When I was watching a playthrough (fuck buying it lmao) of Heartbound, I had noticed that while the writing is serviceable, the main character and almost everyone he interacts with is IMO insufferable. I'm not a professional writer by any means but I can tell you that Mald's characters range from "Giant emotional pussy" to "Cartoonishly evil moustache twirling villain". The main character has no character, no pun intended, as his whole journey is the stereotypical shit you'd find in an AO3 story written by a middle schooler. It's pointless, edgy, he loses control of his emotions and has a "dark version", and he only serves as a vehicle for the player to explore the world. Maybe in that sense, Jason is trying to rip off undertale again as Frisk and Kris are total self inserts, save for Kris despising you the player for your decisions.

Side characters are bearable, sometimes even enjoyable, but they do reek of "I want people on tiktok to post this character obsessively". One specific character that comes to mind is a crocodile or alligator guy relaxing near a pool in the red and black area who asks you to get him something, maybe it was a drink. He then throws the drink into the pool. Came off as trying hard to be funny.
 
Kiwi devs should band together and publish their own gay undertale clone before Mald finishes Heartbound.

Does Mald have his fursona copyrighted? I'm thinking something like Rance, but the main character is Maldavius Figtree and all the enemies are sickly ferrets.
 
I'm not sure how common it is to write a game story beforehand, to be honest. But regardless, this process is still entirely lazy and retarded.
Jason is not accounting for ANY review work, which from my world of writing is absurd.
He doesn't review any of the past writing and he plans to write the rest one time and that's it.
That's just not how good writing is made. Full stop.

Further, I'd speculate that in his heart of hearts, he doesn't really know how the story should go. Except that in the end everyone applauds him.

I could imagine team-SKG having an advantage in this battle: whenever the industry lobbyist explains their platform you just say, "hmmm that sounds just like something PirateSoftware once said". Of course, the dumber mald looks the better the trick works which is where we come in.
EDIT: I don't know if this is how the process works (talks between both sides) but in any case, establishing a connection between mald and the industry will make the industry look retarded.

She looked like a completely normal teen girl who is into some fringe interests, which is okay at that age. Having seen Jason's manipulative private messages and the fact that Shaye was 17 years old when he started chatting her up, I can't see her as anything other than his victim. If she had met a normal, healthy guy in college, her life might have gotten onto a completely different track.
 
Currently browsing Shaye's ancient furry porn. LOTS of MLP shit, but nothing too nasty. She really seemed like a fairly normal 'edgy' teen girl, calling herself 'agender' in 2015.

Mald has spent the last 10 years grooming this girl into becoming a soulless clone of him- the narcissist's dream come true. Mald gets to fuck a version of himself that has no willpower and takes care of his sex-ferrets between commissions.

I have asked myself this multiple times, what is it about talented artists falling down the furry rabbit hole and turning into gross degenerates that waste their whole lives?
