The crazy thing is that Ian had virtually no investment with Anisa at the point when any sane man would've dumped her. Interesting. It never occured to me why Anisa had previously played nice with the Kleins...until you brought up the now-defunct Klein+Piker partnership. A lot of testimonial evidence suggests she genuinely hates Jewish people and has for a long time (Muslim father, after all).

It was their partnership with Hasan. She's long vaunted to walk in the same halls as Hasan and the people she perceives as having the """correct""" opinions. As soon as the Klein+Piker partnership dissolved, she plunged the dagger into their Jewish backs.

BPD is technically a “real” mental disorder, but it (IMO) isn’t “real” in the sense that all of the symptoms are synonymous with just being a shit person that nobody wants to be around. If you don’t fit in to a legitimately diagnosable condition, the provider is going to take all of your symptoms (mainly, being an insufferable cunt) and throw on that BPD diagnosis and shuffle you out the door, and dump you on some poor therapist.

It isn't a mental disorder, it's a personality disorder. There's a big difference between the two, but I don't really know how to articulate it in a coherent, easily digestible manner.

This is definitely 100% true. I remember a podcast clip where she talks about needing her mom to come pick her up and force her to leave the hospital while Ian was already there with her because she listens to her mom and not Ian.

In this story she basically tells him to his face that she doesnt respect him because he's too much of a push over and that's why she makes things difficult for him. Crazy to admit but crazier to notice that about yourself, that you are so stubborn and selfish to the point of being impossible for anyone to deal with aside from your literal mom treating you like a literal child, and have no will to change.

Why he sticks with her will be a never ending mystery to me. I get maybe hooking up with her. My first girlfriend was a crazy BPD Latina but she was hot AF and I was a lonely 17 year old with zero self-esteem, but even then two months was the max I could stand before dumping her.

If true, this seems like an odd choice, but not really for the reasons others mention here. Copyright law is not nearly as complex as say patent law. And a general complex commercial litigation attorney could do a reasonable job with it.

It's odd because this is almost certainly too expensive for Kaceytron. I'd expect a solo practitioner or something similar -- not a guy 15 years out of law school (WUSL), with former biglaw (Goodwin) experience, at a firm with 36 attorneys (and six other full time people) that seem to be on the top (15th) floor of what constitutes a highrise in St Louis.

My sense would be an hourly rate north of $400 an hour for him. Which just feels like a waste for a case with this bad of facts. Maybe it's a family friend...

But maybe not, seems like the guy was working for ~$76k a year just prior to this (although government gigs like this can be done for political/optics reasons not for the money).
