I presume Musk's America Party wants it too.
these guys are stupid in their Marcusian reddit-brained blue curtain readings of Musk's new party. "Red" is Republican while Blue is Democrat. This means the middle is PURPLE, NOT FUCKING WHITE like on the flag. The Alphabet Mafia would approve.

Why is BeijingPalmer so homophobic?
See? I TOLD you the Middle is Purple, not White.

Old Miyazaki.
That's not "Anime being Political", that's "Government Getting In The Way of Anime Expression" which is a WHOLE OTHER THING.

Also the broadest definition of "Political" is not what people mean when they say some media properties have become "too political". They usually mean a specific subset of "Political" by which the authors beat the audience over the head with preachy messages that the audience didn't care for because apparently subtlety in subtext and allegory is dead. Allegory exists for a reason. People are more likely to internalize an allegory than watching something going full balls-to-the-wall "RESPEKT MAH PRONOUNS!" and such. Hell, ST:TNG handled allegories surrounding sexual orientation (and gender identity/espression) a HELL of a lot better (see: The Host, The Outcast) than anything from modern hollywood.
Instead, Warshaw got high as giraffe nuts
LOL my good sir, you win an internets for that one.

BTW I heard someone violated the Embargo on SuperGunn and I wonder what Bob's reaction to that will be. And whether the leaker will be disinvited from the ability to review (or is staff and anon and witch hunt will commence).

I love their reactions to his wall.

There was no indication in the game of where to go or what to do if you didn't have the manual at hand.
This was the case for most games back then. Even many of the arcade style ones. It's not even remotely unique to ET and people pretending it is don't care about what things were actually like back then.

Unlike other 2600 titles where there was a clear win condition? Or winning was impossible, it was only a question of how high you can run up your score before you die the last time or the clock runs out? E.T. expected you to win, and started you off with 10,000 points (okay, 9,999 due to memory limitations, whatever) But EVERYTHING you did would then cost you some of those points. Move around? Lose some, Fall in a pit? Lose some Use your levitation powers to get out? Lose some. The whole goal was to finish with as much of your points stockpile still intact. This meant the whole premise of fun was cut out from under players right at the start because it tried to incentivize efficiency.
And this is just false from beginning to end. Those aren't points, that's your energy. Not only is it replenishable but you have several "lives" when your energy runs out, which can ALSO be increased to prolong the game as long as you want. Your score is something you don't see except at the end and (I think) between stages, and energy is only one factor, and the most insignificant one. You don't even finish when you complete one loop, you begin again with a newly randomized layout (of zones, not the map), and I could go on forever. It's incredible how people can talk so matter-of-factly about a game they know nothing about. If 4-year-old me could play the damn thing through and understand the mechanics, what's everyone else's excuse? Shit on it all you want, but I'm going to immediately shitcan your opinion when you describe an entirely different game that doesn't exist to me.

You all repeat back all the endlessly regurgitated myths while not knowing the first thing about the game or the actual history of the console it's on. "The legend of ET" is nothing but people talking out their asses for years and people like you accepting it as fact. You're being Bob.

@The Fatriarchy I know how games were back then, I'm 50 and have been playing video games since I was 5.

Most games didn't explain the scenario outside of the manual. That is true. However, the vast majority of console games and arcade games from the early 1980s made the gameplay loop clear within a minute or less. ET, and to a less-infamous extent Warshaw's equally bizarre Raiders of the Lost Ark for the 2600 were so abstract that, even WITH a manual, actually accomplishing ANYTHING was damned-near impossible. That is NOT FUN. Hence ET being shit.

There were other games that were high-concept and complex for consoles at the time, but they were all accessible to the player. Fuck, look at Utopia on Intellivision or Star Raiders on the 2600. The key element Warshaw's movie games missed was that you couldn't get so abstract that things became unintelligible.

Another factor you seem to completely ignore is that ET was a family film that was huge with kids. Even you have to admit that making a game that complex as a tie-in for a movie that kids would be begging for would be asinine. And, honestly, most adults HATED ET and found him annoying and creepy, so a complex gameplay loop that. would appeal to them would have that appeal totally undermined by the property attached to it. And that assumes the fucking game is actually playable and enjoyable, which ET is steadfastly not.

I don't know why anyone would pick "ET for 2600 is not a bad game" as a hill to die on, but enjoy the view from up there, there's certainly nobody blocking your view!

Had ET been a simple, but graphically sound., side scroller of Elliot and ET on the bike avoiding obstacles with occasional flying stages, it would have made bank.

So Republicans want it, and Democrats, Thinkers...

...they are, think it might help their chances, so why not DO IT NOW?
Because Democrats despise democracy.

[2025.07.07-04a] SitcomReality (06Jul#03) and Bobby block each other. Fortunately they haven't talked to each other much, but Bobby's cronies have been attacking SitcomReality with gusto, and having delivered their payload, immediately blocking him (a platform by cowards, for cowards).
I reiterate something I've said in the past because it's true: Moviebob loves harassing others, but cries "ha-RAAS-ment" when others call out Bob for spewing out bilious comments.

Ergo I can't piece the convos together.

Surprisingly, Moviebob doesn't recommend constructing the park across several Midwest states through eminent domain procedures, corralling MAGA voters as prey for the park's dinosaur population, and broadcasting the carnage live for free on intergalactic TV.

A YouTuber named The Sunshine Feeler just put out a video of forgotten mascots, and it felt like the kind of video that Moviebob used to make. Too bad Bob doesn't seem to espouse the virtues of individual, colorful characters that Could Be Anything anymore, instead it's all about "diverse" race-swaps.

I hated the trend of gritty, realistic, violent, color-muted games starring gun-dudes as much as the next retro-gamer in the 2000s, and I still do. But the solution Bob and the rest of his ilk offers is to simply make the gun-dudes more diverse which still doesn't solve the main issue of new characters and games not being made like in the old days.

Selling and retaining 2 million sales in the infancy of video gaming isn't making bank?
Retaining 2 million sales when there were over a million returns and the bulk of the sales that stuck were $3 bargain bin purchases, then having to bury unsold copies in a landfill for a tax write-off indicates that context is key, and you have no fucking clue.

I think that could be a good angle for Bond, have him be a young-ish man who hates his job having to uphold globohomo and while he does kill bad guys and save the day he's often at odds with his own government and pissed off at the state of the world. That's what makes the novels so interesting, which Dalton captured perfectly being more of a "rebel" than other Bonds

You know as well as I that in current year this is impossible. You can't critizise Globohomo in any way, shape or form. There is also the elephant in the room, Demographics. I'm not a multi-cultu faggot but Bond has to be aware of the Paki invasion and, at the very least, believe the system to be better than the alternative (communism, socialism, totalitairianism, etc).
The way you're describing Bond would be a great movie:
  • Have his superiors be a bunch of pencil pushers DEI hires. Make them extra petulant middle managers with conflicting interests. That will give Bond extra reasons to mistrust them.
  • Bond thinks on his feet instead of following standard operational procedures, so he can't work alongside his "co-workers".
  • His co-workers betray him or let him down at every turn and it's his job to unfuck their messes and keep his head
  • The villain is only at odds with bond because he's on the other side of the fence (very cliché but we've established that nu-bond is a rogue)
  • He feels British and Patriotic, despite the Globohomo-ism.
My only problem is that I write myself into a corner every time I think of Bond. 2025 Bond is just an origin story for a villain. 50-60's Bond would be a villain in new-Bond era if you make him like you described in the books. Well aware of the state of the world and jaded enough to know he's too good at what he does to be let go but too at odds with the world to be promoted.

The Floods in Texas are a tragedy but it's not a political issue unless you want to take a hard look at both parties. Fact is you can go back 20 years and look at the levees in New Orleans. How many bridges in Northern Blue States have collapsed due to decay? Infostructure isn't sexy and thus it doesn't grab headlines and politicians rather spend money on things that grab headlines, and they don't fix infostructure until something terrible happens.

As for George Takei of course that fag doesn't want camps to close he once said on Stern his first sexual experience and this was a child was with an adult in his late teens/early 20's when he was a kid at camp. He didn't see this as a bad thing he talked about like it was one of the best days of his life he went on and on about how "Beautiful" the blonde-haired young man was. He's probably sad he's too old to volunteer at a camp himself.

Lesser Brother looks more normal too- like a kind of happy fat guy who's accepted what he is and is okay with it. I guess not being a perpetually outraged piggy is better for your looks.

Pam Bondi claims that there is no Epstein client list.
pam.webp
I'm almost certain that list is being used to blackmail people into supporting Trump. Releasing them would end that blackmail scheme. That said, it won't be as damaging as everyone thinks. Everyone thought the same about the Panama Papers, and look what happened.

And there's few things that turn off audiences as making self-inserts and bad guys strawmen of your personal enemies. This whole thing will be a gigantic fanfiction and will flop, hard.

I'm accounting for returns. 2 million that were not returned. That's what retaining them means, you fucking retard. I'm cutting this conversation off here because you people don't have any fucking clue what you're talking about.

Atari literally took a write-down on it. That is only allowed to offset a loss.

I bet you're one of the morons who believe XBox is profitable, too.

If you sell 2 million of something that costs $3.01 to make, but sell three quarters of that at $3.00, you lose money on every unit sold at that price. Atari had to offer up buybacks and make-good product exchanges to retailers for all the returned units. That cost Atari a ton of money, as they had to take back unsold and returned units at their own expense as well.

Revenue=/=profit, selling below cost COSTS the manufacturer money, and other expenses arise in cases of returned stock.

You are so fucking retarded about simple economic principles that it beggars belief.
