I always saw it as the second obama administration. people are a lot more willing to admit he was a terribly abusive president these days. The first 4 years people were people riding on the high of the first black president and finally getting that dirtbag Bush out of office. But by the time 2012 rolled around he had already started three new conflicts in middle eastern countries without even pulling out of afghanistan, ran roughshod over the domestic economy with strict regulations in nearly every sector, and refused to increase minimum wage. the culture projected by the media and government during this period was absolutely fucking mind numbing, legitimately dumber than any shit people complain about today, because it was just the same gay nigger progressivism you see today but with a cudgel. it was an extremely authoritarian administration.2014-2015 is when I noticed everything about society started to shit for the worst. I'm '99 born, so oldest of Gen Z (more of the microgen between Millennial and Z). 2014-2015 I was freshman/sophomore in highschool and everything felt like shit. I was growing up in the magic of the 1990s wake and 2000s. I mean that's just my opinion, but that world that I knew was there, then fucking gone. Hipster and minimalist culture was suddenly fucking everywhere and felt like the most retarded shit during the 2010s.
The young Gen Z born after me and alpha are fucking retards. Genuine retards in a lot of cases.
The hipster movement was a direct consequence of obama slamming on the fucking brakes during a period of massive cultural and technological upheval. teenagers at the time were desperate for new things and new ideas - smartphones were just starting to get big, computers were more powerful than ever, fiber internet was starting to roll out, and yet everything was still just derivative of the same boring yuppie shit from the 80's that people were really starting to getting tired of. Look at the most critically acclaimed video games of 2008 and then 2012. like mass effect, gears of war, rock band, or call of duty ware all new things that compromised between what gamers found cool and what parents would buy for their kids and by 2012 it was legitimately just ultra-low-risk products with a light dusting of progressive woo to make themselves look good.
when when pop culture turned into aggressive low effort maintenance agitprop, ceelo green gurgling into an auto-tuned microphone and old women sucking off how good culture was when the beatles were around, it's no wonder the youth turned into bohemian hipsters and started doing ketamine. it's most certainly obama's fault
