I have been saying “Cybershell was right” for months due to this, one whiff of payola and he lost his original account while regressing to how he behaved on Deviantart with barely any recognition for what he spent well over a decade doing, it’s sad to see.

I had no idea he acted any differently in the deviantart days. I know as much as the screencap of a da user making an expose on tamers talking about shitty art compared to what he posted on his own account.

Part of me refuses to believe some cash could snap Tamers so easily. I'm sure the Patreon during the SU times brought him some extra spending money. Is it just that the ponymoney allows Tamers to live extra comfortably? Did he finally burn out from SU after doing it for a decade-plus time? And why is he so cryptic about future releases for what is half of his fanbase? Is Sonic Underground just going to be slotted next to MLP for the foreseeable future? How much more SU will we get this year? What about next year?

With how many supporters he has now, even if every single one was at the lowest possible tier, he went from making "extra spending money" to a livable wage. Let's be honest here, there's a good chunk of people at the 5-10 dollar tiers. He's making well over 3 grand a month as opposed to the probably few hundred dollars he was making before the pony boom.

Maybe with the release of Sonic the Hedgehog's Sexy Boyfriend Battles the IRS... AND LOSES? he will dial it back a bit, since Patreon donations are taxable income.

I think he really does have a bunch of videos half to 3/4 done and sitting around waiting to be finished, as proven by the pony slice of life videos right before the recent movies that fit in much better with early pony stuff, plus the Flora picture that still hasn't been in a video. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of the SU stuff in the recent video like the PPG stuff has been sitting around for a bit and he finally got around to finishing it and just stuck it in the latest movie. It may not be so much that he's stringing SU fans along as much as he works a little on one of a couple SU videos he wants to make then gets distracted by ponies and finishes the videos he has for them and puts them out since the ponies have a larger audience and running storylines, which worked at first but are now imo the worst part of his videos, especially since they fuel the shipping and anime powerscaling bullshit.

I don't think it's the money alone that caused him to change. I think after some really elaborate kayfabe for 15 years that took up pretty much his whole life since he became self aware enough to make videos that weren't just pure autism, he wanted something else, and boy did he get it. The money isn't really the sole problem but was part of a laundry list of things that keeps him doing pony stuff.

I would go as far as to say that he could have planned the shift to mlp months in advance, back when he was still releasing su videos nonstop. That flora image does prove he's keeping something about su in the dark, but in all honesty it might just be the last sign of life we saw before dedicating to mlp completely. That image was uploaded when he was receiving some su fanart in the waves of mlp fanart sent his way.

I don't think you can say that with a single character in sonic underground. Even jerod's pa has his moments, like when he drove the bus to school. Flora had her bitch moments but at least she has fairy powers and shit, what the fuck does mary have? quasimodo cosplay?
If sonic underground was quasimodo, would sonic be quasimodo and bartleby captain phoebus? Mindy would be gypsy girl that sonic fucking hates but the townspeople think he wants to rape her so they throw tomatoes at his ass.

I don't know, something about her really rubs me wrong. It's this combination of belonging to this new series that's killed Sonic Underground, being shoehorned into the bloated Twilight Sparkle family dynamic, the fact that all levity dies whenever she is onscreen, toxic yuri (there's too much relationshit period), feeling like a Crystal Cafe poster and the first instance of me ever seeing Tamers write a character that makes me go "This is a terrible idea." Then there's that musical number that looks like Hazbin Hotel.

The thing that concerns me is where is he going to go with this self aware character arc for a bitch that hasnt been developed outside of surface level traits. This character might be mad that tamers is making her retread water with her ex girlfriend, but where are you going to go from here? Id say trying to fuck with the sonic underground files on his computer, because its male dominated, but i sure as fuck hope not.

It's a question I have too. Even Bartleby hasn't obtained fourth wall breaking powers, he's more like a force of nature his universe obliges. He can't affect the universe itself and directly combat Tamers' will, which Marionette has already began doing.
 
If Tamers had just made a post going "Yeah I know I have been doing a lot of MLP stuff lately, I've just been really into it and not as into SU. Sorry, guys, I promise it will return eventually, but for now it's gonna be ponies" I think we'd be a lot less upset. Obviously it wouldn't be ideal, but a big part of the problem is that we're strung along with vague answers and small amounts of SU. MLP sucks, but at least we would have a clear answer.
 
Today’s episode. Looks like it’s gonna be slice-of-life. God I hope, at least it’ll be tolerable at worst if it is.

Tamers couldn't. He wouldn't. If he did then it'd functionally be the full symbolic death of Tamers. The final nail in the coffin if he did that, and Tamers at the least should know/adhere to that rule even when dealing with his MLP property.
