We even have Gatcha tubers talking about this for the Weebs now.
Late reply but I'm not surprised gachafags are onboard too. It's slowly becoming more common for gachas to release offline versions, like Animal Crossing PC, Grimlight, Alchemy Stars, Brown Dust 1 (a pretty wide range of big/popular to small/failed games) and Dragalia Lost is a good example of a game that ended 3 years ago but is still played on private servers today. Even though nobody plays these games expecting to have their pngs forever, every time something announces EoS the companies get flooded with requests for offline or gallery mode.

What I'm getting at is that Maldy has less self-respect as a consumer than gachafags, and thinks game companies should be even more predatory and IP-jealous than Nintendo's gacha branch.

We almost got to 140k in a day, we were deprived of it by 32 votes.

Louis's video is 100% Sisyphean and 100% correct. You can't lament being in a position to enact change. You can't forego personal profit in your endeavors. If you do something great you have an actual need to finance yourself so you can keep doing it. It's suicidal not to. When you're 30+ you don't get to shuffle your obligations in life to make room for video games. You fight for these things so the youth has an opportunity to enjoy the things you did that are deteriorating and disappearing. It kills me knowing that kids experience such a gay, retarded, walled garden Internet.

Even if there is botting, the votes are rolling in at an extreme pace. If the botted votes are 1379 per hour, that's around 33 000 botted votes a day.
Admittedly this number is pulled entirely out of my ass (absolutely insane behaviour dude), but that still makes the margin of error much smaller than we might have suspected. Around 10%, accounting for today and yesterday, and assuming the potential botting will continue. This means that, should the votes keep rolling in, we still have a good chance of making it.
Welcome to the finding out timeline.

What was it I said before? Oh right, NEVER GIVE UP! NEVER SURRENDER!

Someone on the StopKillingGames Subreddit pointed out potential botting on the EU petition.
That's a concerning amount of bots. At that rate we might need to overshoot substantially to make sure we hit 1 mil, we can't rest at the finish line.
Hopefully the EU doesn't decide to throw the whole thing out because of some botniggers.

It's gone up another 1400 votes in the last fourteen minutes. Either the botting is even worse than you suggested, or we're jumping at shadows. Really hope it's the latter.

I don't think so, Louis. You’re not going to turn Moldman into Rossmann Junior.

It's fine that Moldman is indulging in this little side quest for video game preservation, but there are things far bigger and more important than consumer rights, or even my hatred for Mald.
For example: new episodes of Game Dungeon and Freeman’s Mind 2.
I hope Ross gets a big boost to his regular viewership when he goes back to making his stuff. He was one of the Machinima OGs and he arguably came out the other end of their big collapse in the best shape when compared to his contemporaries. It would be a bit of a bummer for him to just be known as the guy who BTFO'd Pirate Software from now on because that implies that the roach is even worthy of mention at this point.

This is more stupid than I thought
I think Louis is not doing amazingly currently. His ramblings here on the farms have been slightly concerning, and the one-and-a-half 1:1 interactions I had with him last year left me with this low level feeling of bewilderment when you're not sure if the other person is just really stressed, or simply not 100% there anymore.
I stopped watching his videos as well because of this. Often it feels like he has no idea where he's going or forgets halfway through.

It feels a bit LARPy to me. @the_patch_dev joined twitter June 26 2025. Their github account looks borderline legit, created Sep 27 2024, but all the activity is on private projects. There's a "contrib" to a StopKillingGamesTracker project, but it looks like just a worthless comment in an issue thread:

If it's not botting or server fuck-ups, the only possible explanation I have is that's it's somehow equalizing and adjusting data from all 5 or so European time zones to Brussels time.

I wake up hopeful that we could narrowly beat out yesterday's figure only to find out that we doubled it. What a world.

Also, I feel like people are getting a little too worked up over the hearsay of this "bots" thing and scrambling to find ghosts in the data they can interpret to reinforce the one thing they're paying attention to rather than the infinite other possibilities. Just because there's an aberration there's not an easy explanation for doesn't meant it's necessarily the thing you conspiratorially fear. That said, I'm all for overshooting the thing by the largest possible margin just in case, but yeah, just don't get so worked up that we all start convincing each other into a telephone game mass hysteria.

Ross has probably taken quite a big financial hit since this shit started since his video output has decreased substantially. (Although, to be fair, he ever uploaded videos in a very timely manner.)
