So, in case you've missed it, Valve is working on a "tf" project found in the main Source 2 repository. There is zero chance it's a port of the game to S2, that would be supremely retarded. I hope it's Robin Walker at the start of a TF3. You never know...
That's likely old. I recall seeing a list of internal Source 2 project names from a few years ago that also had "tf" listed alongside other code names for early S2 projects like L4D3. I get that it's been reported on again, but I distinctly remember this from a few years ago.

Edit: Found a pastebin version of the screenshot I saw. Pastebin version was uploaded in 2022 so the screenshot was likely from 2021/2022.

But the tragic thing is that they leave, make another studio, raise millions simply by having "the minds of TF2" in their About Us section, only to release dogshit games like Stormgate and go bankrupt.
You'd think but apparently the only thing people at valve want to do is work on DOTA 2 or Deadlock (DOTA 3) and even on the deadlock front not much is happening these days.

Why DOTA is valve's favorite child is a great unanswered question.

somewhat unrelated but a pretty hot take: as much as 99% of warpaints suck, I wish more weapons had access to them- shit like the Original, Huntsman, Kritzkrieg, etc: just to rapidly deflate the value of those items because trader mains are all fags who should die in a pit.

War paints in general were stupid. They should have just functioned like any other paint, but for weapons. Nobody wanted to ditch their 60,000 kill strange weapons with Pro KS effects and three strange parts that they have been using since 2010.

IDK what Valve was thinking copy/pasting the CS:GO wear levels into TF2.

I'm pretty fond of a lot of the warpaints, but that's because I could get strange warpaints and apply them to weapons I like for way fucking cheaper than actually buying the baseline Strange item. (Plus, some of the Warpaints are actually pretty alright- Sunriser is one of my favorites) But yeah, I get the sentiment, their current implementation was definitely meant to just extract more pennies & dimes from people.

Someone named 'Hamburger' uploaded a video a few days ago extensively reviewing how terrible the war paint system is and how lazily Valve handles it (of which TF2 weapon skin enthusiast Zesty reacted to on stream). Highly recommended watch.

I definitely hear you on the Strange weapons. Valve really needs to start releasing new munitions crates. That entire market is bloated to hell. There is no reason that a strange Gunslinger should be $400+. I own one, and I'd be happy if Valve crashed that market.

Anyone who unironically mains Pyro is a literal fucking weirdo, most of them are either trannies, femboys, furfags, bronies, Weaboos, or any other type of deviant
There is no autistic vorefag-tier Pyro Main that I will ever hate nearly as much as I hate the people who run Backpack.tf, Scrap.tf, and all the other bullshit micro-economy garbage.

The more I dwell on it, the more I realize just how much I hate seeing obnoxious fucking dipshits with 8000$ backpacks and "trader-mains" as some would put it, but I hate Valve nearly as much for bringing over their dogshit fucking artificial scarcity system, it makes normal ass hats / good miscs worth so much money.

The fact that this item is FOURTEEN FUCKING DOLLARS drives me insane. It's not even a fucking strange, dude.

I hate this economy.

@Shadowsun
Can't you craft these cosmetics? IIRC they are not marketable unless unboxed, but they can still be traded like normal, no?
Hahaha. I fucking wish.

No, unfortunately. Not a single cosmetic / misc released after I want to say 2015 can be crafted, either from specific blueprints or random crafting- Those hats, (craft-hats) are dirt cheap- If you bought a single TF2 Key in the modern day, you could get enough refined metal to buy yourself 3 craft hats/miscs for every class in the game, on top of some strange weapons and maybe a cheap taunt.

In comparison, you would need 7 keys to buy the Battle Balaclava, and at least 50 to buy the Burly Beast- And that's nothing compared to what other bullshit you may want to buy- considering every Mann.Co Key is $2.55,

...Looking at these prices makes me upset, lmfao.

They wouldn't even have to crash the market. Just make the original run of stranges (from supply crates) some kind of vintage ("peculiar"?) and re-release the rest in special strange cases. Now everyone's happy (or at least has no reason to complain).

Personally, I'm okay with certain cosmetics being expensive. Especially the gaudy ones. Strange weapons, on the other hand... I can't think of a reason any particular strange should cost more than $50.

The only people who would be assmad about a re-run of munitions crates are the trader main tycoon types that are hoarding them for speculative reasons. People who have thousands of kills probably don't intend on selling their stranges anyway.

I do mourn the loss of low craft number cosmetics.

Please tell me that you’re not overpaying for keys by over 50 cents minimum per key.
I haven't actually bought keys in years, so the price at the top of my head is iffy. I pretty much exclusively do all my trading via steam community market, save for a few keys I used to buy taunts and non-community store cosmetics.
