Expectations:
New MvM campaigns and loot, new contracker stuff related to MvM

Reality:
A shittier potato.tf MvM event with more troonporium skins in the store. And you won't even get an in-game medal unless you pay for it.

Valve hiring Jay Pinkerton has been a disaster to Valve's writing quality. Patient zero of this rot, just look up when he started working for Valve, on which projects, and how they compare to those written before his involvement.
From a pragmatic standpoint, Valve saw what kind of writing was starting to trend (characters quipping retarded lines that make you picture the generic, shit-eating Pixar grin non-stop) and veered in that direction. Fat, ginger soyjak who writes zany articles for Cracked is a perfect fit.

The millenial style of writing and it's consequences has been a disaster for vibeo gayms. It was already a blight on ears at the time borderlands 2 released, and yet everytime I play a new AAA game I expect to see "Lead Writer Anthony Burch" in the credits.

I wonder if in 10-15 years we will see games mentioning cacaborea incomprehensible soy wojack because zoomers will start to move into the writing scene.

The nu-writing is very apparent in Deadlock, sadly. Lmao, they/them character. Seriously, Valve? I understand Blizzard doing it, but it's utter mental retardation.

I can't wait until troonery dies out in games. I view video game troons exactly like I viewed the bronies. A cult of mostly autistic men that are hyper-fixated on some weirdly antisocial activity. I give it 3 years tops before something else replaces it.

Edit: It really can't be understated just how big the brony scene was in TF2. They had their own servers, their own VSH modes, etc. Every game you would join there would be bronies. Its honestly kind of crazy to think just how few remain.

The people who made the great valve games of yesteryear no longer work at valve.

Nice thought, but what do you have to back that up?
The fact that there have been consistent leaks from Valve for the past year, various people confirming they've seen the game at Valve, and Gabe outright confirming that they are working on the fabled sequel in the HL2 documentary. These guys are not getting younger, and they felt a collective wish to give gamers the promised third full Half-Life game.

Fuck, don't remind me about the brony scene. I remember when that shit came around and I was hoping it would all fuck off very quickly. Boy was I wrong.

1. The blog post sucks massive cock and reeks of shitty millennial writing, I got immediately exhausted reading it and skimmed through the rest of it (I miss the quality quippy TF2 writing of old).
Unironically this. The quality of writing between the older voice lines compared to the newer voice lines is insane. The new lines turned the mercs into 4th wall breaking, 'well that just happened' caricatures. I hate m*llennial writing so much.

I was going to say, Pinkerton is GenX. That's not to defend the millennials, but more that I'm curious what made him this way.
I looked it up, and Pinkerton was born in 1977, but Erik Wolpaw's age isn't listed on Wikipedia so I can't compare the two in terms of when they grew up. Was he trying to be hip and cool with the youth?

See, this is what I mean. Anthony Burch is as core millennial as they get. He was born in 1988, which means his childhood literally ended at the turn of the millennium. What's extra funny is that with some AI, if you ask it what "Millennial Writing" is, they give Borderlands as an example.

But the tragic thing is that they leave, make another studio, raise millions simply by having "the minds of TF2" in their About Us section, only to release dogshit games like Stormgate and go bankrupt.

I take millenial writing as a style/tone, not that it needs to be written by a millenial - see how Randy Pitchford (1971, so even older than Pinkerton) behaves in real life or on social media with his BADASSery or singing "nobody likes a bigot". He has the intessential millenial mindset, even though he was 29 in 2000.

It's as if those people are even worse in the head than milllenials because they took their childhood to early adulthood and became the ultimate greasy quip-throwing retards.

Holy shit. I looked up Chet Faliszek because I know he worked on The Anacrusis after he left Valve, but did you guys know he has a Tiktok?

I tried to make a CWCki Forums themed TF2 map a while back. I had to stop making it when Steampipe happened, and my high framerate mods (which were the only thing I could use to play TF2 due to my shitty computer) became incompatible. I'm gonna continue to work on it when I get my new computer in a few days.

Also, I was thinking about this for a while, but why don't we get a private dedicated server? I mean, we have a domain now, and a lot of us here play it, so why not? I don't know how dedicated servers work exactly, but I doubt it'd be very difficult.
I really wonder what his CWCKI forums TF2 map looked like all the way back in 2013

Anyone who unironically mains Pyro is a literal fucking weirdo, most of them are either trannies, femboys, furfags, bronies, Weaboos, or any other type of deviant
Worse than a double-poster?
