What is their out though? Steve from Agenda Free T.V. makes a good point. Trump isn't making it clear what he wants Iran to do other then to stop slinging missiles at Israel. Which in itself is a response to Israel slinging missiles at them.

I more meant "disapprove that they weren't asked first" instead of "disapproving such a strike was carried out at all", probably because they also support Israel but also need more fodder against Trump.

Both Dems and Republicans kvetch over the president doing "operations", because they equate it to being an act of war, thus they need to be approved first via a declaration of war. Though when done "defensively" or against non-countries (North Vietnamese, Taliban, Al-Quada) there's no need. I'm also pretty sure the "war on terror" made it so the president can do anything he wants to any terrorist group or those who harbour them ("Authorization for Use of Military Force" (AUMF) ) so as long as you can justify it (Iran funds the Houthis, ergo...) you can do anything.

Turning Gaza into rubble is all well and good. Understandable even! But blowing up the last F14s not in a museum, on the tarmac?! This is the worst thing Israel has ever done. Truly heinous, one of the greatest crimes of the last 100 years.

Congress doesn't want the responsibility. Congress is very happy to leave it to the president. No matter what they say they shit bricks at the thought of deciding war or peace themselves
