I finally caught up. Busy day at work but I finally caught up.
Absolute insanity. I really hope the fight for the footage goes quick, but I feel like they're going to drag their feet on this.
The MATI was definitely an interesting listen to. It is what I suspected for the most part, but the nitrous that early on was interesting.
Also hearing the dog yapping constantly made me laugh. I guess sunny is surviving in his shitty bathroom hovel. Poor dog I wonder if it even gets any exercise.

I doubt it will because any judge outside of kandiyohi county is going to look at this and go, "What the fuck are you doing?" regarding it.

This is why you shouldn't talk to him. Technically true that Faran made a misstatement, I don't think Rekieta was pro public bodycam, just court proceedings/evidence (which this bodycam is part of), and he's too incompetent to ever achieve a court opening to the public. Now he's strawmanning the fuck out of that 1 sentence.

I do remember him speculating on how to publicize court proceedings during I think the Epstein or Trump court proceedings that weren't recorded, but he had to rely on Nierman and the like to actually go and take notes. He just jerked off to his "ideals" at home.

Same here. Nitrous was for people who couldn't afford/didn't have access to 'real' drugs. On a par with sniffing glue. We took the view if you could buy it OTC, it was shit and not worth your time.

It means he's completed some cheap-ass outpatient 'treatment' programme -- that'll almost certainly consist of some half-assed group work and some information giving before you get the big certificate telling you you're cured and the court can happily ignore your ass till the next arrest.

It really doesn't matter which tradition you adhere to, whether it be 12 steps, some kind of residential rehab programme or one of the recovery programmes that have a secular underpinning like Rational Recovery or Smart Recovery -- they all see recovery as a process, not a singular event that you go through, tick the box and you're cured. And of course, the reason why they stress this is because people who don't view it as a life long process invariably end up like Rekieta. "I'm cured now. I'm no longer banging the coke/drinking like a fish. I can start huffing Galaxy Gas and ranting on line at strangers until 4.00 am every morning."

I've always been very sceptical about the 12 step fellowships. It's always seemed to me that a doctrine based on religion that doesn't change at all and completely ignores the dramatic transformations in what we know about addiction that have occurred in the last fifty years probably isn't fit for purpose. But I'm dead serious when I say that the best thing Rekieta could do for himself and his family at the moment is get himself down to a 12 step meeting -- AA or NA, it doesn't matter which. Get himself a sponsor and start taking the process of recovery seriously.

He won't do it, of course, because the first thing they'd do is tell him to stop going online. And that's as big an issue for him as any of his drug or alcohol use. But if he was a friend or family member of mine and he was serious about getting his life out of the shitter, that'd be the very best advice I could give them. Thirty meetings in thirty days and get yourself a solid sponsor. At some point down the road, you might find a programme that's more compatible philosophically with your beliefs, but for now it's more important to get rid of your delusional addictive thought processes and there just isn't a quick and easy way of doing that.

12 step fellowships are available just about everywhere and they're free. They've also heard all of your delusional bullshit before and they won't tolerate it.

Let us not forget that Nick rushed through the treatment program as quickly as possible - and only took part because it was required by CPS for him to get his kids back.

Hardin is a man of sincere conviction and will. He fights for his clients like he were the one aggrieved. His motions in the Greer case display this beautifully.

Nick is a trust fund dropout loser. He will never truly dedicate himself to anything except the pursuit of excess. Why bother with things like morals, integrity and conviction when such ideals get in the way of pleasure? Everything is a form of amusement to him, to avoid the existential truth that he is a hedonistic shell.

I'd actually respect Nick a lot more if he showed an iota of real interest in the law. He'd pick up real cases to talk about instead of the meme case of the day, because that's what pays.

Yeah, I can definitely concede that the downfall began with the Depp trial. You're right. Still, I think he was a functional, stable person before that. He might have had personality traits that led to all this, but I don't think there was secret hoarding and neglect until he reached the movie star lifestyle of coke and hedonism and driving drunk in red sports cars. I really think that his family life was actually healthy before this saga.

when there was an account of the mood change for viewing the bodycam footage, from helpful to cold, it tells me there was a directive from the top on down to the administrators.

i am think it could be the "zoospiricy". or it could be campaign contributions from bob and celest. does kandiyohi county have open records for campaign contributions? i can't find it online. it looks like you need to file a request from the county to get this information.
