Real question, does the transparency in Florida have any effect on crime? Sure people won't offend because of jailtime and fines, but there are those who'll only think twice if their crimes could expose them as a ridiculous, goofy fuck
Sunshine laws aren't really a direct crime deterrent, but they are a way of the public having the presumptive right to know exactly what the fuck the government they're paying tax dollars for is ACTUALLY DOING with them.

It lasts even less long if you smoke crack or freebase or, the most degenerate form of addiction, actually injecting it (a literally insane form of abuse where you die really soon like Chris Farley or John Belushi combining it with heroin).
Given the expense and criminal risk associated with it, how fast it wears off really calls into question the appeal. I find it hard to understand why it is worth hundreds if not thousands of dollars and the violation of serious laws for a brief moment of being twitchy/hyper. Not to mention the crash out that follows.

Is there some other enticing effect I'm not aware of or is it really that fucking retarded?

So, we should really get this corruption of this small little county in the mainstream. Can we all tag and reach out to Ana Kasparian from the Young Turks? I recall this being her guilty pleasure. You can't just subvert the publics right to information for a child-abusing drug addict at the crack of dawn, tell the people coming to see it to go home, and it all stay hush hush. Daddies money can only go so far, Rekieta.

Perhaps the public can start a petition. Need to apply a bit of pressure to get answers as this clearly stinks of corruption and is very abnormal. We need answers.

Also, I agree with Josh. April is still living with them and they invented the 15 minutes away and new boyfriend to fool the public of her address. Come on a new boyfriend and in the same county she is an infamous crack wh*re? And he still talks like they are together, screaming for her on stream against Keanu. He also never thought she signed off on the body cam. Kayla's cries are drowned out by Star Trek reruns, and Nick and April are still doing whippits in the balldo lair. Tell me I'm wrong.

People are ridiculously obsessed with things like the feds and the President specifically when almost nothing the President does actually personally affects them. Meanwhile, they virtually ignore their local governments, which (other than the IRS) are almost entirely responsible for most of the governmental shit actually happening in their lives.
Federal law, at most, only affects the average person when they get their paycheck each week or every other week and come time to file your taxes. Literally 99% of what you do in and outside of your home, is governed by your local city, county, and/or state government. But it's those local elections that get the lowest voter turnout. If you want legitimate change, that you can tangibly feel and see, vote in your local elections.

My local city government is sneaky (and corrupt, our scandal with the city manager has been especially entertaining) and they know this. They schedule local elections to be in early April every year. It used to be in November, lumped in with your state and federal ballots when turnout is highest, but they changed it because they know it will keep them in power. Our last city election, there was something like 12% voter turnout. Thankfully one of the commissioners on the ballot was running on a having the elections changed back to November and he won this last election.

Smoking crack leaves an insane amount of residue that can actually be caustic. Literally, shit cracks.

"Crack smoking can leave a significant residue on surroundings, known as third-hand smoke. This residue consists of particles and vapors that form upon heating, and studies have shown that illicit drug smoke, including crack, can persist on various surfaces for extended periods. For instance, cocaine and methamphetamine residues have been found to remain on materials like silicon, plastic, and artificial leather for up to 672 hours after exposure1. This persistence raises concerns about the potential for drug-related incidents to affect those nearby, highlighting the importance of understanding the environmental impact of crack smoking."

Remember when Nick balked at CPS telling him he needed to use bleach to clean his filthy crack den whorehouse because that would be too dangerous for his children? Lol.

In other news, Celeste has to be thrilled! Sounds like the sheriff finally solved the case of the missing prescription.
"Missing" prescription or "her precious little baby needs extra meds but the mean old doctor won't prescribe, so she'll just get some for him under her name" prescription?

Eric Tollefson is currently running for Sherrif, and I expect to see a $10,000 donation on his campaign by Bob and Celeste. A Jon Tollefson previously ran for state auditor. All I know is that we need to get to the bottom of what's happening in Kandiyohi county.
I'm not playing it up for a joke but the way the county is trying everything to suppresses the release of the footage makes me think there's an actual conspiracy. I can't identify what benefits the sheriff and prosecutor get for working with Nick to conceal it besides not wanting to draw attention to their small town. Was there some kind of actionable misconduct on the sheriff's part?
A nice donation to the next election campaign. It's not complicated.
This combined with the light sentencing is suspicious. Maybe some of that trust fund has been finding its way into county politician election funds?
I would be very interested in seeing any and all email communications bob and celeste had with the county government. Hardin got it for Greer's whoring misadventures in Nevada, what's one more public records request in Minnesota.
There is no reason to believe they would have to be so direct. With old money like this in small communities it is very easy to keep the donations far away from the goal you are actually paying for. You want a specific judge or sheriff to be elected?
Simple, attend public events and social gatherings, like the Rekieta Crime Family is well known to do, talk up your candidate regularly to powerful and influential people while asking how their grandkids business is doing, perhaps you will shop there in the future?
Ask how their sick relative is doing, maybe they need a better place in a nice hospice, help jumping the line for a spot in a certain hospital wing, or they could use help finding a good doctor? Maybe one of their relatives is organizing a charity or public event, ask about it, promise to attend and invite some of your rich friends to come along, easy.
Maybe their nephew is having problems securing permission to build a new store or house? Promise to mention it to your good friend on the City Board or Mayor as you are having dinner with them next weekend. I could go on describing the basics of small town influence peddling but this is already long winded.

honestly i think he is more worried about those bodycam footage websites. in general, rekieta has flown pretty low under the radar for how he has acted. only a few thousand or 10s of thousands of people really care about it and are in the kino casino, KF, dabbleverse clipper arena, etc which im sure mostly just consist of his ex fans. that bodycam footage channel will get 2 million views of normies.
For sure, but I think his biggest fear is the black drama channels who make monkey faces at bodycam videos while hooting like monkeys getting it and laughing at him. For whatever reason niggers howling like monkeys at idiot seem to go very viral in some spaces and spread like wildfire and the narcissistic injury or his beloved blacks laughing at him would be deep.

Dope fiends eat chocolate and other sugary foods to keep cravings away. Addicts either recovering or craving a fix with slam sodas, eat candy, etc as it mimics certain things in the brain.
When they get really desperate sugar is the quickest legal and plentiful dopamine rush they can get after all.

And they absolutely are enabling him. Without his trust fund, he'd be dead right now.
Or, if he never had it or his enabler parents, maybe he could be a well adjusted normal dude, doubtful but still.

Deep down he realizes that jail is his last best chance to live his best life with all the gay sex he can handle and then some
Maybe I'm being :optimistic: in even thinking Nick has any rational thought process left, but it's entirely possible, if he does, that he's deliberately trying to get put behind bars so he can suck on those chocolate members.

oh yeah werent bodycams specifically supposed to be to show how cops are interacting with the criminals and with the community in a transparent manner? there was a big stink about that but now apparently the court can just tell you you actually dont have that transparency so the cameras are nearly useless ig and just safety theatre. i actually completely forgot the reason they were introduced from how opaque the process to get access seems to be.

Rekieta is live right now with the literal who chocolate syrup woman. Less than 200 live viewers. He’s talking about his experiences doing drugs.

So it is a personal opinion, not a legal one.
It is my belief Sean is offering a legal opinion, and not some philosophical one. He said "I don't think you can," instead of something like "I wish you wouldn't be able to."

But the man is right here. He even responded to one of your posts just recently saying that he believes the two bodycams were introduced into evidence. If you wish to debate him, feel free. You asked me who proffered such an opinion, and I said Sean, while directing you towards his argument.

I personally have no reason to disagree with Sean. Maybe others feel differently.

Ultimately, this may or may not matter though, because it is not yet clear what the legal basis will be for Lolcow LLC's lawsuit against Kandiyohi County. I am sure that will become more clear in time.

Nick posted cat pics earlier today because he thinks it'll stop us from wanting the bodycam footage
I am allergic to cats. I am a dog man.

Fun fact, Sunshine laws are the reason we have Florida Man. Florida's Sunshine laws are so open, nearly anything and everything is readily available for the public to access. If you're a journalist looking to fill in some sort of article quota, just fire up arrest and case reports in Florida. Endless bounty of stuff to write about.

The funny thing, if all states had Sunshine laws as open as Florida's, there wouldn't be a "Florida Man."

ok mr white collar college educated lawyer please enlighten the masses on what chewing tobacco is for faggots from your gaming studio
Because I couldn't have grown up in any other environment than the Providence Yacht Club.

Anything longcut, and especially anything in pouches would get you mocked where I was a kid.

I started out on Skoal Wintergreen, Fine Cut, because that was what I could scrape up from the tins scattered around my Dad's truck. I didn't think it was controversial. I didn't mean to offend your delicate Zyn pouches.

And absent an actual basis confirming this is improper, we are back to whether admin errors count for permanent lefal designations,

Even saying that what was done actually constitutes an "administrative error" is somewhat a reaching conclusion and is accepting perhaps more of the argument made by the locals than is necessary. It can be argued that this is as much about disorganization among the defense team and their own incompetence as it is any kind of administrative error. There are certainly all sorts of legal errors that cannot be corrected after the fact.

There is an equal amount of question over under what legal authority the judge took this action. Its more than unusual in the courts for a judge to consider something as evidence, release as evidence to a public audience and then suddenly change his mind very quickly after the fact. An argument can be made that what was done goes against the spriit of the law concerning the records.
