I still suspect that some people may be trying to prevent a murder-suicide of two parents and five children by their drug addicted father.

Remember that everyone in that county knows about them by now. We see little bits (albeit frequently) of Nick's behavior, and we form our opinion of where he's at mentally, but people in the county talk. They see his children, they see Nick's behavior, and there are innumerable interactions in meatspace that almost all of us here lack, given our portals into his digital life.

There might very well be a locally growing belief that he's a time bomb and that preventing the video release will prevent a horrific tragedy that will make international headlines. This guy was living in a crack house, with crackwhores and children and with semiautomatic weaponry. This guy has a kill list.

I heard a well-know lawyer, Robert Barnes, suggesting there's corruption in the county. I see now his opinion probably has some merit.

Maybe it's been mentioned before but I can totally imagine Nick suffering a mental breakdown like one of those characters from Ace Attorney the moment the bodycam footage drops. Heck he's acting more and more unstable as we speak

I see a fair bit of dooming just realise this.

The process hasn't been stopped, only turned into a gruelling weeks/months long process for rackets, 2 pro bono lawyers, one of which has a personal reason to dislike nick, will be working tirelessly to reverse what seems to be a clear constitutional violation (i.e. a slam dunk), and for every day of that process, nick will have that grinding anxiety of 'any minute now' of josh getting the footage, of someone snaking him, and continued spiraling.
