The sad part in all this is that the kernel of truth in such a story is that likely Aaron being at the house was possibly a source of comfort and relief for the children.

We know that at points when Nick would freak out Aaron would shut him up and while he was still part of all the debauchery (there’s no exemption for him for that) he was likely a much kinder and caring entity for them.

The stories of him trying to get people to clean or just help the kids make a snack while muting Nick was probably a huge thing for kids stuck in those conditions. I’m sure losing that was hell for them.
