If I had to guess, proper real talk here, it's because autistic people tend to go along with things easier and get pulled into things more fervently. Like, the idea of a hyperfixation is very real and very documented. That and most autists tend to be weird loners that just want to be accepted, it makes them prime bait.

There’s this phenomenon called “the misattribution of arousal” where people will rate racy photographs as more sexy after having done something scary, like cross a suspension bridge. Normal people will get aroused in multiple areas simultaneously (fear, hunger, sex) and become confused about what stimulus is causing what response. Is the sexy lady in the photograph actually making your heart pound, or was that just your fear of heights? Autistics are defined by sensory processing issues, so they’re sort of always on that suspension bridge, confused about what in particular is causing their palms to sweat.
• Autistics tend to think in black-and-white terms.
  • What this means is that if they do not fit a socially designated label of “boy” or “girl” they might conclude that they actually are the opposite sex. How many trannies do you know that claim to be female because they like My Little Pony or glitter or some shit? It’s that sort of juvenile, simplistic thinking writ large. How does one “live as a woman”without appealing to reductive gender role clichés?

I also think that there are several confounding variables. Such as…

• Think about the average sperg, or a sperg you knew growing up. You’re probably thinking of a white boy. You’re probably thinking of some suburbanite brat because those are the kids that get dragged to every medical appointment by their helicopter parent - who may actually derive social benefits from being an “autism mom”. Basically, a lot of diagnosed spergs live in suburbs. I think the suburbs have physical and demographic aspects that contribute to troonery.
• Most tranny shit spreads through online circles, and autistics are disproportionately online. Trannydom did not become mainstream until many online tools became accessible through mobile, that is, to normies. Before that, only nerds like the Unabomber spent forever online. Lonely people are easier to lure into cults, lonely people spend a lot of time online, etc.

Basically, there’s things about autism itself, as well as environmental factors surrounding autism (or who gets a diagnosis) that correlate with troonery. It’s a multi-faceted issue but we’re not allowed to study it for the same reason most universities won’t let you examine Native American genomes or question certain geopolitical allies.
