Which ruin?
It's been a while since I was there, but from what I remember of it It's literally a room you can access after doing some shit in the world map where there's a treasure hoarder journal or some shit where it's implied they got stuck there and then they mention some mysterious figure was sealed in there. The text then says that the rest of the journals filled with black splatters. It's on the lower western coast of the same island elynas is on IIRC.

durin was suddenly framed as just completely normal evil entity
I don't think Durin had much agency in that state. He could only slowly regenerate and radiate excessive lifeforce around, which wat fucked up surrounding monsters. When monsters threw in Albedos Amogus, its will and knowlege spreaded through radiation, which allowed new amoguses to spawn.

Yeah that's what I took it as but they also kind of framed it like the amoguses were enacting a plan the reviving durin came up with after absorbing the amogus albedo's corpse.

I know this is a joke but like find it really funny how the "durins evil now" shit came out of nowhere so now all wiki pages just have a little blurb going and explaining things away in a manner pretty much identical to what my "ah well i guess you could explain it away like with his heart absorbing one of the evil albedos"
>However years of solitude, torment and corruption changed durin's heart

The is headcanon, Albedo makes it very explicit that the reason Durin turned evil was absorbind evil albedo, thus enacting this bizarre plan of "i will create doppelgangers and brainwash people for 6 months so i can make albedo look bad". (he can just do that cause dragons can do anything).

Which is weird because Durin already ate evil albedo before, but it was only after eating him again post mortem that he absorb his evilness. It almost like... evil albedo wasnt originally pure evil or somethin...

That whole elynas world quest was also another thing that was blatantly building towards the durin thing, at least whatever it was before this clearly somewhat rushed out yet still high effort veer-off course deal.
But Elynas is an alien and Durin was artificial (genshin dragons are everything).

I think hoyo simply loves the idea of having a dead giant dragon around because it's such an inherently fantastical and lore fodder thing that lets you make up reasons why the enviroment changed. The inazuma serpent dragon died and it's blood is radioactive and the fatui farmed it's bones to make delusions. It works like that because dragons are magic.

Durin got the short end of the stick where it feels like the devs regret making his entire lore event locked so they gave up this plotline and it's time to move on.

I don't remember this but i dont remember 99% of world quest notes i read. Tbh treasure hoarder lore is all over the (i had no idea it was a "faction") and this sound like ambiguous setup that they can bring back or ignore whenever they feel like it.

yeah, it makes a lot more sense the way you described it than the "ah well see he became evil because yeah" shit lmao

I could have sworn the elynas thing was less an alien in the normal way and more "he existed before he was alive and was brought into being artificially meaning those two beasts that got made technically already existed somewhere in a different form"
Speaking of the genshin dragons natlan's world quests go deeper into the non-artificial lore surrounding them, as did the ekanomiya timed event thing a few years ago.

IIRC the treasure hoarders are a "faction" in the same way the similar treasure hunter faction from sumeru is, somewhat loosely connected groups of smaller organizations all under the same umbrella name. Their stuff isn't super complex but they usually end up getting involved in some shit somehow. The three main "enemy factions" are the abyss order, the fatui, and the trasure hoarders but they aren't always enemies due to how their chain of command works. The abyss order is the one that's almost always 100% enemy, but with small semi-exceptions like Enjou, the guy you keep just running into that's up to shit and still very much an "enemy" but not in the same way as most abyss guys.

Of course I already rambled about how the abyss order is not the same as "the abyss" a few times, since they're people who use the abyss energy for shit as opposed to the primordial abyssal stuff that corrodes warps or kills people/creates shit like that abyss dragon boss that speaks with voices of several different people

That's the thing, as far as 99% of the fandom is concerned, treasure hoarders are basically generic bandit groups (me included).

But then i heard the moon webevent this month says the hoarders are one single faction founded by Gol D Roger in Nodkrai and they're all tryingo to find the ONE PIECE.

I think hoyo actually planned many of these "random" threasure hoarders journals you find at the end of dungeons to be genuine lore that will culminate in some conspiracy that will lead to the One Piece and it will be related to the main archon story. Maybe this journal with black splatters will come back there.

The HSR preload has been data mined and it appears that both EN voices for the Trailblazer have been recast. So I'm curious as to the reaction when the official announcement is made, and it means we'll probably see further Genshin recasts soon.

I've already seen youtube recommend me some random gachatubers talk shit about tribe nine, i doubt 99% of them played it, even a genshin tuber did a video about and it was more "the gacha industry is doomed man, too many games". None of these fuckers care, they'll just make their own propaganda like "lack of sexy waifus" or "it was japanese so it would die anyway".

This Tribe Nine video popped up. @LucasSomething, do you concur?

>the impossible downfall

Oh no it's that guy again... He actually did play (or did he?) tribe nine and made a review video about it but i think he only played the first city.

In fact, i clicked his tribe nine video at random and instantly got another case of illiteracy.

("nothing to indicate break meter at all")

What do you mean "nothing at all", it literally flashes red and goes faster the closer it is to break. It's not perfect but it's there.

Going back to his new video

>There is now an option that lowers hitstop, meaning you can interrupt animations to dodge or counter

That's not what the word hitstop means. It means the game stops when you hit something. They should've made lower default tbh, the normal one slows it too much.

>Let me say other content creators who didnt play tribe nine are mischaracterizing the game

Actually true. The launch was terrible yes, but a bunch of gachatubers who didn't play are jumping on this to shit on it for their own reasons, i'm glad he's aware and he should've talked more about this.

>The issues were bad player retention and gacha inexperience

That's... fair. Like i said, the content was too slow and endgame too pointless, while the gacha turned too generous. He even mentions the battle pass being 10 dollars ("free" with 2 monthly passes lol) having 3 very good skins is insane to think about (and then you can get them free). He doesn't mention the director interviews that really highlight the inexperience..

Another thing he's right is that chapter 1 is HARD and only those who played will get that. Not ninja gaiden hard or whatever but it was hard enough to genuinely filter scrubs. I'd see many posts on the subreddit calling the S.H.A.R.K. boss impossible and i admit it IS a significant difficulty spike. You don't have your second passive and good gear yet so you're not bruteforcing.

I never died until shark went to kill me +10 times. It's not that hard but it's moveset is so frustrating and anxiety inducing. It has some simple melee attacks but then it summons water rings that drop on stage and will intentionally go under them to shoot at you, a homing bite that one shots and sets up mines that you need to make him eat or else you take unavoidable damage.

It's actually super easy if you knew what to counter and where to stand but if you don't know what you're doing you'd get molested. And this game doesn't even have a boss tutorial or tip unlike genshin (and genshin players don't read).

1747767349646.webp

(this is after they give you the choice to make the fight easier)

The way they pushed the red elite bosses to optional and made endgame easier also alienated the hardcore fanbase and it still wasn't casual enough for casuals.

This video could talk more (like the director interviews) but what he says isn't wrong and doesn't sound like second hand doomerism. It's probably because the guy genuinely enjoyed the game and wishes it wasn't gacha. If it's his gameplay then i believe it because he has all limited banners meaning he DID return to the game to roll for them. The genshin and wuwa video feels like he was only making them out of obligation for views, which probably made him not care much.

In fact, i searched random BAD youtuber (saintomas) to make a comparison, and i heard people hate this dude. In this video he literally admits not playing and reacts to a different youtuber who player T9 for 30 minutes.

(dont give him views, its to get an idea)

This motherfucker does like 8 WuWa and 12 hoyo clickbait videos per day.

1747768759365.webp
(Nightmare cancer rotation.)

This next guy (Stix) is apparently hated too and i can see why. He literally starts pretending to be a fan, then saying "i didn't play cause it's japanese so it was probably shit anyway and i heard the launch was bad" and reads the patch notes for 10 minutes and calling it a scam and "Good riddance".

He also fucking shits on hoyo nonstop and praises WuWa, i'm not sure he even plays the game and looks more like a reaction dramatuber. Do all WuWa tubers have no personality like this?

Psychie's video looks like a masterpeice by comparison. He should've talked more about the terrible launch and director interviews but he wasn't too positive or hyper negative and he's not spreading misinformation, it was allright.

Fucking instead of building pity to grind less, I should just hoard primos instead.

lol from my (own) experience "building pity" is code for gambling addiction, gotta learn to save bro.

From my own experience, "building pity" is also a great way to get 5stars you don't particularly want or need.
Yeah, i remember a lot of people/redditors "building pity" back in Yoimiya's first banner and whining about her coming early and taking away their Raiden guarantee.

Naaah dude, you were rolling cause you either can't save for shit or you wanted to get Sayu lol.

I'll at least concede that trying to unlock a top tier 4* like xinqiu or bennet can be worth the gamble.

Apparently I'm retarded. I thought pity reset with each new banner. Guess I should have scrolled all the way down.

Rolling for a five star you don't want is like having unprotected sex. Sure, you might not get "lucky", but if you do you have to take responsibility and raise it up properly. This includes artifacts, weapons, talent material and all that "fun" stuff.
I think of artifact grinding, and suddenly find myself not wanting to goomble anymore.

Ah well I'll accept the L with grace. If anything I have the French Foid for collection purposes. Just kinda assumed since I won three 50/50s back to back, I wouldn't win a fourth so I wouldn't have to grind so much come phase 2 but here we are.

Appearantly it's not too uncommon evidently. Saw people on other forums claim an 8 win streak.

Oh well. Grind and Welkins are my best friends.

wow you don't have to call me out like that

more like yoimidya, i fully built her but never use her because she's not very good. i did end up getting sayu and i don't use her either.

It could be worse tbh, Escofie is very strong, easy to use and will get better as more units release, so unless you hate her design and personality getting her her early is very good.

Btw reminder that if you use her hold skill she drops a plate that makes free food and this resets every monday (not 7 days). If you put it on an electro crystal it will cook automatically due to application (same as parametric). It's free food so why not.

I didn't know this but there is a small chance she makes what is apparently the strongest food in the game.

(the fact this is locked behind one specific character skill, random chance and weekly limit is funny to me)

Thankfully I only dislike four characters in Genshin and she ain't one of them.

But anyway might as well spend the time saving for Kinichi and pray Dehya doesn't do to me a second time what Lyacon did to me for Burnice twice.

I do thankfully have 55 pity on Chronicled wish so grinding should not be too hard for Kazoo.

Does anyone (outside of new players) still use food? I remember getting the gadget that allows you to use food on the fly, only to bench it once I got good healers like Kokomi and Shinobu. Never had any time where I needed to use the Attack/Defense/Crit boosting foods either.
