100%, that has never been contested. If we're gonna get into that, pretty much every single commentary youtuber picks easy targets. It's hard to go after people whose fanbases will defend them because there's usually not a lot to say about them in the first place other than being extremely nitpicky. If Ian had gone after Pewdiepie or Markiplier, for example, what would he have talked about? And the Paul brothers were a tired topic; the fact that fans were asking him to make a video on them, plus the fact that they were getting a shit ton of hate already, proves to me that his video would've been well-received no matter what. He would not have taken any risks making it, it was a wasted opportunity even because of how easy and how guaranteed it was to get him praise and views, so I think bringing them up specifically doesn't prove anything other than he's not business-minded, as everyone knows already.

And I'm gonna disagree with you on Leafy. He had a kpop tier fanbase, a lot of it was made up of obsessive fangirls and we know how protective those are (although not very effective), plus if you check for spaces that had both Idubbbz and Leafy fans on them at the time, you would see that the reaction to his video was actually rather mixed, and if Leafy had responded appropriately, it might have ended Ian's career way earlier. I'm gonna agree that every other content cop was not a risky move at all though, and they were not intended to be, which I think has always been obvious to everyone older than 15, but to claim that he didn't go after the Paul brothers because they would've had people defend them and it would not have ended well for Ian sounds very inaccurate to me.

That was my assumption. It's either that, or Ian is having a psychotic break right now. Like he made the trip to LA, drove to Hasan's house, then broke down in tears because he simply couldn't force himself to do another round of this soul-destroying shit. I don't know what else would explain this, since Anisa was on twitter a few hours ago saying that Ian was in LA for his playdate with Hasan.
OR it could be that Hasan invited him to LA, made him pay for a plane ticket and fly out, then turned him away at the door because he utterly fucking despises Ian and he wants to be part of the wall-to-wall humiliation and disrespect Ian receives every day. In which case, Hasan just went from a zero to hero in my eyes.
