There aren't a ton of christians here but i'm one and I do appreciate this sentiment. The nuance is that you don't have to immediately give somebody like this the keys to your house, but don't shut them out entirely. Give them a chance to prove themselves again.

I've always felt ethan is a good person trapped in a horrid environment (LA + youtube) and that his main problem is loyalty.

I think i have a soft spot for him because he reminds me a lot of what I went through. I was very left wing in the 2000s through high school and most of college because outside of this website, i'm a kind, caring empathetic person. I hate to see people suffer, especially if i am convinced my actions caused it.

So that combined with growing up in a left wing environment I went with the left. It took a lot of interactions, deep thinking, asking hard questions, and good ol fashion noooooticing to realize the degree to which this personality trait can be taken advantage of, both on a personal and global scale to rob you and convince you to hate yourself and fuck with you on a deep psychological level. This equation of who is oppressed and who isn't is not as simple as I was led to believe. It was a long hard lesson for me to learn but i'm very glad i learned it as young as I did.

Ethan has had his big backstabbing moment, whether he keeps pushing remains to be seen. I'm betting that he will because he has a kid and that changes the degree to which people nooootice by overruling the need to be liked by people.

I doubt H3H3 were the ones to warn Ian about Anisa but the point still stands. He must have been warned by someone and he did not listen. I think his friends did not push the issue because most must have realized that he is not the type to listen. He might have been willing to take criticism at some point but that time has passed. And, as you said, his friends are not his parents. He is an adult and he should be trusted to make his own decisions. I can only hope he will not fight too hard when Anisa leaves him thinking she can do better (even though she can't). For his own good at least.
