We all expected Doohan would be a lame duck ever since Flavio started eyeing up Colapinto, as soon as they paid a reported $20 million to get him out of his Williams contract it was confirmed. No one buys an out of work driver for $20 mil to use him as the reserve.

In other news Hamilton has finally come out by being the host of the met gala which this year is "black men's fashion"

Really getting that cred with the real Gs there.

Also the new wing TD in Spain is predicted to impact the Mclarens amd mercedes heaviest so they need to build points now incase it brings Max back into contention.
The current technical speculation now is that McLaren's pace is mostly from their ability to save tyres. They're also routinely drag heavy.

Apparently some people are suggesting that they're sinking heat into the axles. Seems whimsical, but if it works, it works.

Absolute banger of a car aside, piastri really is the man. Second race in a row he's completely cucked verstappen while simultaneously proving whose number 1 at mclaren in the process.

Lando is so unlikeable. Not just from a spoiled brat bad PR perspective the dudes just so ass be it on defense or offense. Obviously the dude isn't a complete shitter but on merit there's only 1 driver at mclaren deserving of a title and thats piastri. Zak brown is so in love with Oscar it's unreal.

It's also cool that we are kinda getting like a double dose of generational talent. As much as I'd love to see max and Oscar battle. Kimi in the mix is rad.

This sprint is awful. Outside of it being extra revenue I just don't see the point in it. It was fun extra racing for a while but with how shit the back half of the grid is and how hesitant the top teams are to actually risk racing for pennies of points. Its kinda become like a defacto practice. Obviously the try hard autists make it exciting but it's just like max at this point taking the sprint seriously and everyone else wishing he'd stop so they could treat it like a defacto practice. I know its bit more competive than I'm making it out to be and I enjoy watching it nonetheless.

They should swap the sprint out for a hotlapping competion. You can still call it the sprint weekend but instead of the 2; 3 session qualis and 1.5 races. Just give them infinite softs and let them hotlap for an hour. Its all the best parts of the sprint race(extra quali) without all the bullshit spoilers for Sunday. These cars operate in such a bullshit window of nuance I'm sure that's impossible but at this point who the fuck is the sprint for?

I love racing but sprint sucks and it's such a tarnish on that "pinnacle of motorsport" bullshit. F1 kinda sucks now for sure. The racing is somehow better but all the bullshit the fia and f1 does is so distracting from it. This weekend sucked. I like miami it's not that shit of a track. Outside of nostalgia it makes for better racing than monaco key word racing there. But fuck is this just silly. The funniest part for me was the lego cars.

Also speaking of the lego cars. Lewis really starting to become likeable. Him in charles were having so much. As gay as this sounds hearing hamiltons laugh throughout that was so golden. Even with him losing his cool with Ferraris bullshit idk it's been kinda cool seeing him in the ferrari and enjoying himself even if the radio doesn't show it. He's really alot more authentic this year. It's cool to see. I'm sure he wants to win and win badly. I'm sure he's sad to see merc with a decent car. But also like it seems he's come to terms with his career. Obviously you don't become a 7 time champion but not having a passion for winning but it seem like deep down he's like on his vettel Aston quest. Just enjoying himself before he calls it quits. Still putting in some decent work every now and then but you can tell somethings switched in his brain idk he's holding for 2026 or he's just enjoying the sun setting on his career but it's kinda cool see. It's really changed my perspective on him and made me realize I kinda just hated him(respect as a racer though) cause that was the popular thing to do when you rooting for max.

Verstappen needs to figure his shit out more than redbull needs to fix the car. It's crazy to say this while he's still over driving the car and putting it places it shouldn't be but it feels like he rattled by the the current state of the cars both his and the mclarens.

I think he's done after this year. He's gonna go elsewhere. Idk where you go though unless he's banking on newey magic as Aston it's a gamble going anywhere else for 2026. But that's also kinda cements the newey baby shit so idk. Not that he cares he just wants a good car fuck idk. Alonso seems on his way out for good. He's old. 2026 is gonna be a refresh. I think there's genuine chance max lands there. Merc has a driver. Ferrari is just a influencer company who dabbles in racing at this point. I'm sure Zac would love max in orange but that's never happening unless Oscar leaves, too late for Verstappen and lando to team that's never happening either. Maybe he takes a gap year and switchs it up for WEC. Idk. But the i don't see him waiting for redbull to get there shit together in 2026.

He's kinda just stuck at redbull or goes to Aston. Idk where else you can go. Maybe the imola upgrades will change things and it's still early for sure. Max dominated first 1/4 of 2024 before mclaren gained form so who knows but idk that mclaren fast as fuck and newy memes aside it do seem like he was exactly what the memes made out to be. That dude builds good cars.

It's crazy how shit most of the rookies are outside of kimi. This is the best f1 can do? Pinnacle of what exactly? Super license is just like bullshit it doesn't equate to a competnent rookie. They all out there almost dying anytime they put a wall to close to the track. There's gotta be shittiers in indy who could do better. Not even this year either since the inception of these cars the rookies entering f1 have mostly gotten worse since we entered the ground effect era. Idk if it's a problem with the feeder series cars or just like teams signing dudes off clout but fuck is it kind of embarrassing at this point. 20 supposed best drivers in the world and half of em are awful. Everybody gotta start somewhere for sure but this is just a shitshow.

The racing somehow still awesome though so maybe I'm the idiot. My b for rambling.

I think if Max leaves Redbull to drive for someone else in 2026, it will be Mercedes.

The stars are aligning for them, with new major rules and the likelihood of engines coming to the fore again.

As good as Newey is, he needs decent support staff, and I suspect that Aston Martin will need two more years to provide this. I don't think the 2026 Aston Martin will be that good, but the 2028 Aston Martin might be.

Little reminder that george russel STILL doesn't have a contract for next year either. lol and indeed lmao
Switching teams you started your career in and that is basically 90% geared towards you, including the car design, to a different team ,with a different philosophy, different PU, isn't a guaranteed championship move.

Casi might be fucked before they even join
I still think they're nailed on for Checo and Zhou.

Checo because he has shit loads of money backing him, Mexicans are the next best thing to muricans as a target market in murica. Aside from the RBR years which took the shine off him he is a solid driver and can develop shitboxes and drag them to the front.

Zhou because China money and marketing, he's a ferrari guy and that's who's engines cadi are using, and the team principal of Cadi is Zhou's manager.

Schumacher is a merc guy these days and in a different series so doubtful he'd be picked and pretty much ever American driver you can name moving to F1 is a meme.

Cadillac sells more cars in China than they do in the USA, and have done so every year since 2017. China even has its own domestic market models that aren't sold anywhere else in the world.

Zhou's gotta be a prime candidate to join Caddy's F1 team at launch.
