True pathological narcissists do not seek out "victims" Psychopaths do. This is a common misconception perpetuated by self styled narcissism experts online. If you really want to get the best educated information on mentally ill people like Nick read, and listen to clinicians who have studied these personality disorders for decades like Otto Kernberg, Frank Yeomans, and the late Dr. James Masterson, and yes even the controversial Israeli Professor Sam Vaknin who has been clinically diagnosed with NPD, BPD, and schizoid pd. I don't believe Nick Rekieta has full NPD, it's actually a much rarer disorder than claimed online. Being a selfish asshole is not a disorder. He definitely has some narcissistic traits like inability to take accountability, blame shifting, and confabulation, but over the top grandiosity, and extremely low empathy doesn't seem to be one of them. He's extremely insecure about many things. A true NPD would never slap their head in shame. He's a vulnerable narcissist at best. And the more ego hits he keeps absorbing the more he's exposed as the weak, thin skinned homosexual he really is mask off.You should know that a narcissist’s desire for admiration and attention doesn’t follow a supply-and-demand logic like in economics. They love manipulating others and being adored. Generally, they tend to seek out people they find easier to control or influence.
As for the "tend to seek out people" No it takes two to tango. Toxic people attract toxic people, for someone like Nick it's just easier to have a shared fantasy with another mentally ill red flag ignorer codependent, or "fixer" type i.e. a Kayla, April etc.
