I had a long rambling engineering analysis typed out but the salient points are that laser engraving is best suited for materials you can’t just mold to have that shape, like wood, leather, and forged metal, because most plastics you’d just have a mold made and manufacture the the shape you need, that’s the whole point of plastic as a material, but A) There are edge cases where if you’ve got an engraver and are buying stock quantities of polymers like acrylic it might be easier than mechanically machining a design and B) Nick is a retard and for all I know is trying to use a laser on something that’s just going to burst into flames the second he lights it. More realistically he intended for a metal or leather product. Knife, wallet, that kind of thing.

Edit: This is mostly for actual manufacturing, for a limited run hobbyist tier product a laser engraver is admittedly pretty versatile, but at the same time if you’re doing a very limited run is the cost of the engraver going to be worth it?

That said, he knows it's a very prominent failure. It's a failure of character. It's something he publicly promised to do, and never did anything to accomplish it. It's a way he failed as a human, and he failed publicly at it. Then he completely failed to deliver on it, making him a failure, a loser, a thief.
