zoomer "comedy" is weird.
Personally, I find that Zoomer "Comedy" has categorized itself and become much more niche due to increased focuses on SEO, Content Creation, and social media.
It has also utilized meta-elements much more than any generation in terms of comedy.
Sometimes, I find it incredibly humorous because of its unique combinations of a variety of media. Other times, I find it trying too hard to be original.

One of my favorites, a video of teenagers trying to run across the street, but two of them stop at the sidewalk while the other continues to run.
The two young men put their hands over their heads, looking at their friend as he crosses. It cuts to a variety of memes of people doing the same thing.
It ranged from old Vine content to NFL QB Will Levis. Then it cuts back to the guy getting hit by a car and doing flips in slow motion.
This is all synced to the Color The Night from Persona 3. I just got a shock video mixed with in Persona 3 and Vine Nostalgia.
Although, I feel like a lot of the humor now is more shallow, even if it's still unique.

Online learning was a pain for me, and I'm sure it fucked with the others worse, academically and socially. I'm sure there's a small amount who benefit from it, but when my university shut down and it took a while to get back, it was painful. Professors hated it, other students hated it. What I truly remember being upset about the whole lockdowns and online learning is how I lost my chance to study in another country :( I tried again after things were slowly going back to normal, but then the other country's program canceled. At that point, I gave up and when I entered my last year, none of the classes I needed would have been offered so I simply stayed.
Same my last two semesters of undergrad were brutal being online only. That’s why I can’t stand WFH because it drives you crazy when you get so little social interaction (and I’m generally an introvert)

Sorry to hear that about the exchange. I lucked out and was able to do an international exchange to Europe in the fall of 2019 right before all the Covid stuff a couple months later.

I've noticed lately that 21-24 year old zoomers seem to be a lot more reasonable and less annoying than 21-24 year old zoomers I worked with 5 years ago. Like the zoomers from 5 years ago were so fucking immature and retarded. They were obsessed with godawful mumble rap music and Gucci bags and talked like complete fucking retards. I remember one dude bragging about how he butt chugged beer and xanax. Just utter fucking retarded nigger behaviour all around.

The zoomers i'm working with now seem like normal people. If they didn't look young and hadn't said how old they are I would have thought they were older for sure. They actually seem to care about their work and are responsible with things. Five years ago I had to explain to a zoomer why Tarzan swinging on an overhead crane carrying a load was dangerous and retarded. These new zoomers do not seem interested in doing such retarded shit.

Younger zoomers still seem pretty dumb though. My wife works with some 16-17 year olds and she says they're a fucking nightmare to work with. They give zero fucks and are pretty retarded.
In my experience zoomers fall into two categories with little in between. Either hard working and on top of thing or lazy and borderline useless. Could have something to do with how we were raised, "gifted and talented" classes and parents minmaxing their kids lives for scholarships. Those things existed for millennials but were taken to a new level with the internet and rise of academic/career coaching.

I feel like our parents were equipped to better shelter us in the physical world compared to gen y/millennials. More tracking tools like cell phones and after school programs to keep kids from going out and getting into trouble, but virtually free reign to mess around on the internet. Your YouTube, Vine, Instagram, and now Tiktok algorithms have a huge affect on your lifestyle long term. That's without getting into the effects of online pornography at a young age.

The only comedy I'm into is soyposting, country slapfighting, and gegbvlls. I couldn't imagine listening to pahdcasts or cuckmedians like many do. I like how decentralized comedy and culture are now; it's arguably isolating and disconnecting but it's also varied and colourful and less homogeneous and sterile.

There are more retards in college because its filled with kids who did 1-2 years of online learning. Those idiots who got caught are just lazy retards who would have gotten caught pre-AI or flunked out. More are slipping by and graduating because of AI however. Its everywhere too. I could sperg about the education crisis beyond just DEI and culture wars, but I digress. People use AI now more than Google out of necessity, ChatGPT can just find the answer without digging through tons of ad results, jeet Quora and reddit posts.

I've submitted AI written essays and bs busywork and gotten A's on it. They key is to use 2-3 on a complex assignment to check work and bounce off ideas. So like DeepSeek, Claude and ChatGPT. The way I did it was make my own arguments, handpick my evidence, and create a several good sentences and and feed into the AI. I will also toy around with tone and syntax to tweak it, and add in some other stuff to make it more unique to me. You yield much better results if you let it make connections, but you have to point it in the right direction. Its incredibly useful at work, and in general, you just have to learn to talk to it effectively.

Zoomers know they are being harvested for data with AI, but they don't care.
I'm through college now and I didn't use AI for a single assignment. I was really tempted for some, but I'd eventually just pull an all nighter, sit my ass down, and knock everything out. Meanwhile, I knew guys who would ask ChatGPT for literally everything. 10 page paper? Chat. A discussion form that would take you 5 minutes to do by yourself? Also chat. I'm sure that will get them degrees, but it's not gonna help them in the workforce.

Imo I hate the stereotypical millennial than the stereotypical boomer. It does make me happy as an older Zoomer (1998 ) to see the younger Zoomers born post 2000 reject the idea of college and go for trades/entrepreneur. Student debt is still a massive problem but at least it seems we aren't all following the lemmings in front of us off the cliff.

Gotta disagree on that one. Millennials may be extremely fucking annoying, but boomers are actively malicious. They own all the property and they vote for all the policies that ensure that our generation (and the alphas but who cares about them lol) will never be able to afford homes.

Gen X, for the most part, is good. My parents are Xoomers and I feel like they raised me right. Still, there's some things about Gen X that irk me. Mainly, they're really stubborn. I've tried explaining how bad the housing and job markets are for our generation to my parents and their friends and they just can't wrap their heads around it. It was good for them in the 90s and 2000s when they got their houses. They think the '08 recession's impact is over.

Yep for my elective history classes I would pick 2-3 sources and then randomly through them through the paper. Literally did the Source "I made it up" a few times.

Never used ChatGPT for assignments though.

I can handle short periods of time, but long periods I didn't feel like I was learning much at all. One of my professors just dumped an entire textbook assignment and used outside resources so she wouldn't have to grade shit manually. Maybe she would have been that bad in person too, but I did not learn a single thing in that class which made the class that builds upon the concepts within that one much more confusing. The way she had it set up was where we would answer concepts through this textbook website, and they were the only assignments. Easy A as you had to keep doing them until you got 100s, and her quizzes were just the same questions, but god I didn't fucking learn much.

For the abroad thing, I was very dissapointed and saddened. Both of the different programs had countries that appealed to me and seemed fun to be in .

Our boomers tend to not understand how anything works and get mad when you try to explain. Other guys my age and I are often told the "BACK IN MY DAY.. WE WORKED", "GIVE HIM A FIRM HANDSHAKE", and "LOOK AT HIM IN THE EYE WHEN YOU WANT A RAISE", every time they leave out they were part of good unions that gave them an over the top pension and excellent wages. Even the lowest ones who did simple assembling got excellent wages. The jobs they worked at are gone, and are in a whole different country. And I know it's horrible for the ones who didn't grow up in a background like mine, and are unable to get those jobs of the past. Blue collar exists, but it doesn't pay as well as those industrial jobs did and private sector is typically worse pay, or god forbid you work with tourism which are mostly seasonal gigs that pay the worst. Most of those who work in tourism aren't from the area anyways, so when tourist season ends they fuck off back to where they came from.

I will confess without shame I cheated for my bullshit elective class, but she used the same multiple choice tests every year. One of the worst classes I've ever taken.

Maybe it's just me with who I have interacted with at work in the blue collar world. Most boomers up until recently at my job were extremely conservative and millennials just seemed to fit the stereotypical whiny bitch with lefty retard politics but that's coming from my rural upbringing.

Everyone but boomers where I live seem to be politically apathetic. Sure most people will vote and sway back and forth, but they don't really give a shit. The trannies trying to take over sports really pissed off a bunch of people and myself. The oldest people like silent generations are socially conservative, but usually vote for left leaning economic policies when they do vote. I have no issue with silent generations as my great uncle is a younger silent generation (I believe), and I love him a lot since he gave lots of useful advice. He doesn't vote anymore though and I wonder if many his age are the same.

I believe there's a small portion of our boomers which would have been Rockefeller Republicans in the 1980s which I find interesting along with how those slowly gradually flipped between sides, blue collar drifting right and white collar drifting left. Not a surprise really.

It's definitely a "where you're from" kind of thing. Here in Canada the Boomers are that evil overclass, espeically in the urban parts where most people are. The more rural you get, the more of a toss-up it gets between those caught up in the "everyone who is doing worse than me is simply worse than me" boomer who leans Left so that their two homes don't depreciate and the boomer who gets caught up in American politics and leans right because he thinks trannies are gross.

I mean, isn't it kind of obvious that there are going to be a lot of different types of people within such a large age group? There are always the ugly, older-looking, unkempt folks in every generation. What really sets the Zooms apart from the Millennials is that they were the first to grow up with internet culture/social media, so the internet is their dancing/sex/reading. And with the speed at which the net is evolving and spreading different information, many are consuming a lot of different ideologies and splitting into factions trying to find an identity or a stable worldview which will never happen because economy is in shambles.

To be honest, sometimes I wish I had been born in an earlier time, before the internet, or at least at the age of adulthood when it just came around. It's like all the fun passed when I was a kid, and now it's just bills, inflation, and stupid gay shit to deal with. Artistic media has lost a lot of it's merit and quality since the web came along.
Man, I was born in 93 and am thus a millenial and my generation still struggles with internet being our new everything. Older millenials who were teenagers in the late 90's and early 2000's were the last ones to get the authentic 'real' experience.

Hi, Zoomer here. I fucking hate myself. Post Reply.

But seriously I always have this burning dread when interacting with other Zoomers. Some of them are fine enough. Others are obnoxious progressive fucks. I have a classmate who's a Redditor and grinds Hoyoverse games and League, and another classmate who's a Muslim and says Mushoku Tensei is a good story and every time I give him a concerned look he gets pissed about me disrespecting the kino.

TMI? TMI. We NGMI.

It's not his fault both the Qu'ran and Mushoku Tensei have an Aisha. :smug:

Sounds like they're living through fantasy because 'reality is boring', or they can't be bothered to make a change in life and consume media as a form of coping.

zoomer "comedy" is weird.
I will never forget when I made a thread in the Art board here shilling my shitty webcomic with "Zoomer comedy" embedded in it. Nobody liked it and I got shat on. Justified to be honest. Did I mention that I hate my existence? Zoomer punchline, bazinga!

I have a classmate who's a Redditor and grinds Hoyoverse games and League,
I knew someone exactly like this; he had a very rigid and surface level way of thinking. Reddit messes you up. Progressives tend to be as tolerable as the normies; TWP centrists and chudcels are the most annoying. I dread interaction too, but for entirely different reasons, which is why I am very terse and cloak-and-dagger with regards to interaction.

I wouldn't be able to give any look that's not contemptuous and scornful. I would just withdraw and ignore; reasoning with weebs is like trying to argue with Scientologists -- you're either with them or against them and if you're openly against them, you will eat nothing but crap.

It's either gooning or fedora-tipping over being into le niche weeb media. There is no deeper psychological mechanism behind it.

I still think I look like shit but when i see a guy who's like clearly somehow younger than me but has the late 40s-early 50s look about em it's an uncanny fucking thing to witness because they've both got smooth young-ish skin but also the hairline, physiognomy, and behaviors of the most deranged and fake boomers. They're always parroting the same fucking shit too when they look like that, the fake fucking pre-baked phrases of journos the last over a decade, "Orang man will kill YOU!" "Millenials bluh bluh bluh" "GAMERS BAD AND ENTITLED!" and bringing up harmless intentionally offensive memes like moonman as if they were a serious statement about race or some shit and not just people going "haha what if mac tonight was a racist drug addict and did rap songs" There's an aura of fakeness pervading these types and I don't know if it's the clout chasing, the living of a lie, or some other shit that ages those people like milk.
