During my last year of university, there were so many idiots using ChatGPT to type essays and getting shocked when it cited made up sources or it didn't know how to do advanced math and would hallucinate random formulas that didn't exist.
There are more retards in college because its filled with kids who did 1-2 years of online learning. Those idiots who got caught are just lazy retards who would have gotten caught pre-AI or flunked out. More are slipping by and graduating because of AI however. Its everywhere too. I could sperg about the education crisis beyond just DEI and culture wars, but I digress. People use AI now more than Google out of necessity, ChatGPT can just find the answer without digging through tons of ad results, jeet Quora and reddit posts.
I've submitted AI written essays and bs busywork and gotten A's on it. They key is to use 2-3 on a complex assignment to check work and bounce off ideas. So like DeepSeek, Claude and ChatGPT. The way I did it was make my own arguments, handpick my evidence, and create a several good sentences and and feed into the AI. I will also toy around with tone and syntax to tweak it, and add in some other stuff to make it more unique to me. You yield much better results if you let it make connections, but you have to point it in the right direction. Its incredibly useful at work, and in general, you just have to learn to talk to it effectively.
Zoomers know they are being harvested for data with AI, but they don't care.
I am very concerned about those who are addicted to ai chatbots who use it for companionship or roleplay.
If you can be convinced to kill yourself with a chatbot, your grave was already dug. If it wasn't AI, it would be a video game character or some degenerate anime.
Beyond the legal encroachment being used to advance gay copyright laws for AI, the loneliness epidemic is going to interesting to watch. So many Zoomers are lonely, socially awkward, anxious whatever, and its not going away anytime soon which means more people will be turning to AI for possible genuine companionship. Im not really concerned when an autistic virgin schizo commits suicide due to ChatGPT, but when 'normal' people start turning to it for friendship or relationships, like a post grad 9-5 yuppies, yeah thats when its alarming.
I know more than a few zoomers and young adults who use AI chatbots as therapists unironically. Whether you find this horrifying or not, its happening. The reasons for is because insurance will only cover certain therapists (if at all), the overall general shortage of them, convenience and cost of a real therapist. My college had psych people and counselors, but the feedback I heard about them was they were generally unhelpful. So far I've seen benefit from people using it in this manner but I am anxious about the long term ramifications of it.
My observation with AI's is that you have to be mentally strong and resilient and be conscious of the parasocial relationship aspect at all times to avoid being sucked into the pitfalls and hazards.
